 Blah Blah Blippity Blah
Aaaah the joys of Mondays.  How fast they come and how slow are they to turn into a Tuesday.  I don'tn really have much to blog about today - not that I ever have just so much to blog about my fingers get on fire from the need to get my words out.  Today my friends - is definitely no exception.

My daughter is doing much better, thank you all who asked about her.  Her mouth is doing great (ulcer has disappeared) and she has been fever free since Thursday.  Yippee.  My daughter now however is going through a food phase.  Meaning - she won't eat.  The only thing I can get her to eat is cereal.  I fix her dinner that my husband and I eat, she pushes it away and says, "No sear-al", I tell her no that she has to eat what I gave her or she doesn't eat at all, she opts for not eating.  Now I'm not one of those mom's that can say, "Fine you just don't eat".  I did that as a child, not because my parents made me eat what they prepared or go hungry - we just didn't have the money all the time to get food.  I had to go hungry because there was no choice... my daughter has the choice and I choose to give in and give her the cereal.  I know eventually I'm going to have to get tough and just deny her the cereal - I just haven't gotten to that point yet.

That being said, I am going to throw out there that I'm a member of a mommy group.  I'm actually one of the moderators there - and someone posted a question:  Who would you save? *lets assume you're a parent)  If you were on a sinking ship who would you save?  Your spouse, child, parents?  For whatever reason I figured everyone would say their child.  To me it's a no-brainer.  Someone said they would actually save their husband over their child.  I know that we're all free thinkers, more power to you you know... but I don't know, that really bothered me.  I'm going to ask my husband when I get home tonight who he'd save if we were on a sinking ship.  I hope his answer is to save our daughter and let me go.    Just to be nosey though - who would you all pick?

I got sort of in trouble at work on Friday.  One of the guys I work with told my boss I wasn't doing my job... so I got called into her office, blah blah.  Everything is good now - I have to say the guy who got me in trouble isn't on my gift list this year, unless you count a bag full of flaming dog poop a gift.  If it is, homeboy is going to feel like it's Christmas every day!!

I had the fire department come to my house on Saturday.  My carbon-monoxide detector kept going off, so I took it off the wall hit the reset button like it said and it said if it continues to beep to call 911.  Ok so I did that, reset and beep......... beep, oh crap gotta call 911.  So I do, they tell me to evacuate the house of any living being - snatch up my daughter from her nap (talk about cranky) and I shoo my dog out the back door.  I'm standing in my driveway with dirty hair pulled into a pony tail (don't judge me, I was cleaning the house).  Lo and behold I get the hot of the hot firemen coming running up my driveway.  My neighbors are now coming over to me asking me if everything is ok.  I assure them that yes, everything is fine, my C02 sensor was going off.  5 mins later the captain told me to come inside.  Apparently yours truely just needed to change the batteries.. that's why my detector was going off.  I felt like the biggest dorkies loser ever in the world.  I started laughing and couldn't stop, I was so embarassed.

I think that's all I got right now to talk about.

PS.  LadieG and Mandie - the lady that works in my office that I want to trade Azon for, she looks just like Don Imus - still wanna trade?

LOL nah. When I was pregnant we had the talk of who would you save if the dr's told you it was me or the baby. He said he'd save me not the baby. Now though, he's had a chance to bond with her, so I think I hope that his answer has changed.
If it hasn't then well I won't be mad at him, I just have to hope that he's never put in that situation. I dont think I could forgive him if he did actually save me and not her.

About your kid not eating, Whit:
Maybe her throat is still hurting her. After I came off of strep throat when I was a kid, I always ate soft foots like pasta, jello, and soup. That was all I ate because, even though my strep was gone, my throat still hurt. Give it time (about a week) and if she still doesn't want to eat the food you cook, THEN tell her eat or go hungry!

Regarding the CO2 decector:
I probably would have done the same thing! The smoke detector keeps going off in my family's kitchen, and it's because when we cook something in the oven the heat makes a bit of smoke. It goes off, like, every night. When I first heard that, I ran upstairs yelling "What the hell's going on???" I thought there really was a fire! I was sooo close to calling 911! So don't worry, you're not the only one!

Hey Whitters! Glad to hear that your daughter is feeling better, though I am sorry that she is not eating well. :(

Hmmm... I'm also a bit disturbed by others choosing their husband over their kids to save as well. I don't want to judge others either, and I mean obviously that's not exactly an easy question (situation) but that is a bit off-putting and sort of... strange? I just feel like you would immediately want to protect your child...then again that's me...so, I mean... I don't know... I'm with you!

As for the carbon minoxide detector... better safe than sorry still feels silly when something like that happens, huh? But... you did the right thing!! Like kaos said... at least you got to enjoy some eye candy in uniform!
