kids get bumps, bruises and owies.... don't knock yourself, whit. you're an awesome mommy! wifey once slammed nicole's hand in the front door by accident, taking off the top of her finger... accidents happen. a kid would not be a kid if they didn't get bumps...

Yeah I know that bumps and bruises are going to happen - I just didn't want to be the cause of it.

I am a daycare owner. Believe me when I say that your normal everyday behavior when dropping your daughter off and picking her up is what is judged. If you ordinarily show great concern for her health and well being then a bruise and a bump will go unnoticed. They wrote it down to document it, in case you were to come and pick her up that afternoon and suggest the mark was not there this a.m. It is to protect the daycare and is not a reflection of you as a parent. Give yourself a break. Small children are weebly wobbly anyway. There will be many more. note to self: leave lights on next time. thats all. Have a good day :D

I busted Kaylie's butt one morning before daycare I mean BUSTED IT. When I took her I actually had to show them the handprint I had left....At least it wasn't that bad!! Don't fret at least you're not taking her to the ER every month with a broken bone!!!

Thanks Shemelts. I just called to check on her and they told me that it's not as puffy but it's a little discolored.
*sigh*... lights on all the time now, ALL the time.

It happends... see there is a problem with our world today, and it has alot to do with a woman who wins alot of money for spilling coffee in her lap!! Accidents happen. there is not allways someone to blame... they just happen. Believe that and know that kids are made to mend fast and bounce back, and believe me when I tell you your daughter is not mad at you for her hitting her cheek, but she loves you for being there to make it better... think about that.

Trust me, that's not the worst thing that could happen. When I was a little kid, two things happened to me that people thought my parents hit me. One was I got a black eye. It was a complete accident, I was walking up the hill in my back yard with my sled (it was winter) and I tripped and the top of the sled hit my eye. The next day everyone was looking at me funny O.o
The other thing is that I broke my wrist when I was 5 years old. In our basement, underneath the carpet it's cement. I tripped and fell, and my hand went out to break my fall. My parents took me to the hospital and there was a cop right there looking at my dad really funny 'cause I was still crying.
These things happen, whit, so don't beat yourself up over a little bruise! |
