I have to vent a little bit here. Things tend to really be bothering me, I won't go into everything... because well #1 who really wants to see an entire post of all the things that are eating at me, bothering me, #2 I wont because some of them are of my own doing and I don't want to put it out there - I already feel like a crappy person, I don't want everyone else agree'ing with me, #3 no one needs to know that much about me.
That being said, here's the start of my little rants that I can't keep to myself.
Let me explain something about my job, I am a project assistant - which means I review blue prints with our CAD machine, I bill contractors for work we get (making sure that I put on enough of a mark up that we actually make money), I enter all paint invoices and I'm back up secretary for our paint department (the secretary is actually my best friend). Well she's on vacation this week so I'm up at her desk. Mind you I've been doing this job for 9 years.... 9 YEARS! I get up here this morning and what do I find... an envelope with my name on it. I open it thinking it's something funny and cute, NO - it's a list of freaking instructions!! INSTRUCTIONS!!!!! ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?! Surely this is some funny joke - though I look around and no one is laughing. Quite the contrary I'm scowling and I feel my blood pressure rise. I know that this is probably petty - but really a list? Like I don't know what the hell I'm doing?
I'm now 2 weeks late. I have taken tests and they are negative.. so where the hell is it? I won't go into anymore on that, because well it's gross and personal.
This morning coming into work it was errily foggy out... the site distance was 1/4 mile. Let me say that I almost got hit 3 times this morning. One of them was in the parking lot of my work. Not once did I honk my horn or get mad.. I did however vocally say... "Hey there buddy, I'm right here". What a dumb thing to say.
Downstairs at my desk I somehow downloaded a virus so I can access the internet but not without this stupid pop up that keeps telling me I have an infected computer - etc... blah blah. I suppose its a good thing I'm upstairs and not at my desk. Hopefully our IT department will be able to fix it.
I have my coffee in front of me, I have access to an awesome music site Launch (I'm not supposed to have it, but since I'm not at my desk I'm going to listen to it)... life could be worse, but it could really be so much better.

Sounds like a Monday alright. Geesh ! I've so many saracastic things to say about those instructions, but I'll bite my tongue. ;-)

Here is a list of the instructions...
1) Keep checking the printer paper. They go through paper quickly.
2) Please make a copy of any checks that get handed out. Keep a copy of the checks with the paper work, I will deal with it when I get back.
3) Please water the plant that says "water me please" just put water at the bottom where the rocks are, fill it to cover the rocks and it will be fine until next week when I return.
4) The key to the cabinets is in my desk drawer. Do not let anyone go get their own supplies. Nothing needs to be ordered until next week.
5) Randy's email addresses are in my S drive (she left me directions on how to get there)
6) Call me with any weird questions, trust me, it won't bother me because these guys will try lots of stuff with you while I'm gone.
Ok first of all - I know how to water a freaking plant! I'm not a tard.
Second of all - I think I know that the guys go through paper quickly... why wouldn't I check the stupid printer?! DUUUUUUH
Third and finally - I worked with these guys MANY MANY MANY times before! I think I know how they work.
Now that I got all this out there - I hope that its what I needed to get it off my chest.
I HATE THIS STUPID FU%KING List!

sorry to hear about you day. I like the part of the directions that say water the plants that say "water me please." Ha go figure. I hope that your day gets better, and keep us informed if about maybe "expecting?"

The little plant instructions kinda remind me of the scene in Austin Powers about feeding his fish. "Don't forget to feed my fish...not too much!"
Heres to hoping that this day will end real quicklike...it's for sure been a Monday.
Good luck! Oh, don't forget to check that printer to make sure there is enough paper - wouldn't want to run out or anything. ;)

I am soooooo sorry that you are the victim of such a list. I've been there and done that too. You should make sure that the printer has a mondo stack of boxed reems sitting next to it, so she KNOWS you were diligent! (wink, wink)
