Welcome to Question of the Day.
I have been asked to do QOD, yes it was by default, but I see it as a privilege.
I have been told that Jason will soon post his QOD, So still keep a look out for it.
Thank you, to all that precede me with their questions, and a big thank you to “Anotherdaze” for starting this in the first place.
Also would like to thank EasyToSay for keeping the ball rolling and for doing her recaps. I know that I have needed to use her recap posts to keep up to date and have found them helpful.
So on with the question. I have thought that it would be nice to have a fun question to ease some of the tension around thoughts. However my question is also going to take us back to our childhood.
“What was your most treasure/prized toy/possession as a child, and why?
And
“What was the worst toy/possession ever given to you as a child and why?
Thank you and I hope you enjoy going back in time.
I will pass the baton back to KarKar.

My most prized possession was a stuffed toy of "Little Miss Fussy".
I was given it by my grandmother because she said that I was fussy when it came to everything I did. It had to be perfect. (A little obsessive at times)
My worst was a dump truck, why well I was a girly girly and trucks were for boys, and also to me meant going outside and getting dirty.

most prized possesion...hmmmm damn I'm not really sure. I Guess it would be this little duo of stuffed bears I had. My dad got me a big yellow one the day I was born. and someone had gotten me a little brown one to go with it. I actually still have those bears.
As far as worst??? I cant say that I got a toy that I didn't like....if I got a GI Joe I was happy cause now my barbies had a boyfriend....

My most prized possesion would have to be my piano. I have the same one I started with 30 years ago. It still sounds so good after all these years. A little hard to cuddle up to at night though. Have slept under it a few times for comfort.
I hated the rubiz cube. Use to frustrate me so much that I threw it one day and it fell apart. But guess what I was able to put it back together all colours right. So I knew from then on if I threw it when I couldn't get it back, I would be able too. Had a few people convinced that I could solve it for awhile.

My best toy ever was a cuddly rabbit bought for me by my dad...it started me off collecting rabbits and I still collect them now...I dont know what happened to all my childhood toys, but that rabbit? Still sits beside my bed.
Worst present? Oh jeez...when I was about 14, a friend of my mums brought me a video of a cheap version of the story 'Heidi' (as in 'of the mountains) because thats my name. Easily...the worst film I have ever seen! Lol x

My childhood prized possession would be a pink stuffed pig. His name was Wilbur and I slept with him every night. I used to love his curly tail and I bet if I found him now he would be a shade of peach and have a straight tail :]
My worst present would have to be this magnetic chart that had different resposibilities on it. When you carried out a resposibility you put a magnetic star next to it. My brother and I HATED that thing.

My most prized possession: Very long story made short, a family friend gave me a baseball hat worn by my favorite baseball player in a game.
My brother "borrowed" it and lost it on me
Worst: My parents bought me a bike for Christmas as a child...I can not ride a bike

My most treasured possesion as a child is a small teddy bear i got off my grndadwhen i was 2 year old.
His name is Ben and i still have him to this day.
He holds all my secrets and all my tears and i still take him everywhere with me.
My worst possesion was a Bros video, my real father thought he knew me and bought me it for my Birthday.
The only person i ever liked in Bos was craig, when he left i hated them, lol

When I was either 7 or 9 yrs old I got a kitten from my aunt Judy. She was the mother of many cats to come. Now I own dogs.
As far as the worst I really don't remember. Other than two years in a row my parents both forgot my birthday.
I always wanted a certain baby doll for Christmas. As soon as my sisters would say they wanted the same one I'd change my mind so that I wouldn't have the same one as them. So I guess I really never got my first choice. I was still happy I guess just to have one that neither of my sister got. I just hated it so bad when either of them copycatted me. Ha ha.

Prized possession as a kid was the first baseball glove my dad bought me. The thing is old and tore up but I still have it. When TC comes over we sometimes play catch...or fetch really...but he wears my old glove, just until I get him his own.
Worst gift? Hm, every year for Christmas my Grandmother buys me socks. Imagine getting sock when you're 5 years old and expecting a toy. Still til this day, she gets me socks. Now I look forward to them.

I might cry if I think too far back on this one:( Childhood was a different time...a different me.
The thing I remember most was my toy box(a handmedown)which I kept all my toys and whatnot in...keeping my room clean like a good lil boy. But, even though I used it so well, my mother seemed to like being overly tidy by removing what she considered "not being played with" or "junk"...and the junk she often threw out were the first books I ever made as a kid. I'd later ask what happenned to them...she would be clueless. Hurt me so deep, I cannot tell ya.
I can't think of any toy I held prized other than my first Atari system(of course I got this late in childhood...age 11...when kids were getting hip to Nintendo and Sega already). But, it was my first video game system and I treated that investment with such care(as I did most of my toys including action figures which I would carefully "repaint" with crayons and markers if the bottom of their boots wore off from crazy guests trying to fly and walk them). When I had to finally sell it two years later(as I tried to catch up to other kids), I was the only person I could find who had kept everything together including the game boxes still in celophane with all their papers inside. I sold a $200 investment for $50 to some kid who's mom was buying him a water bed that day. It was barely enough to buy Ninja Gaiden for the NES...I cried so hard.
Worst thing I received? Well, let's just say my parents are often the worst at shopping for kids:P They think practical and responsible. Well, my mother does the thinking...dad just goes along and drives miss daisy. But, no matter what I asked them to get me, they always thought it wrong for me or too expensive. A key example...my fifth birthday...I was a big He-Man nut...and the week before, my brother and I were talking...I said "I pray they get me any figure...just NOT Faker, the lamest repaint ever"....sure enough, they got me Faker:P And said the ones I wanted were too scary. UGH:P

My most treasured and prized? A .22 long rifle that my grandfather gave to me when I was around 5 or 6, yes my family is redneck. My name was hand engraved into the side, and was a gift just before he past away. It is the only thing I have to remember him by, though my name was misspelled on it. It had my first and middle name only and the middle name was spelled wrong. It wasn't until I became an adult I discovered that my father was not my real dad, and the spelling was correct. It was my biological dad's last name. My grandfather had made sure to leave something behind so that I may someday learn a secret that was kept hidden from me; a truth I learned nearly 15 years later.
This can also count as the worst gift as it still reminds me of all the years of deciet and betrayal I have gone through to keep this secret. The truth to my past is still full of shadows and holes and has brought my family close to breaking apart on many occasions.
But I still have the rifle. I have since outgrown it, but it is my only memory of my grandfather and it is my proof to be wary of who I fully trust. It will also be handed down to my son, should I ever have one, so that he may always know he has other kin. Even if the family tree does not show it.

my most prized possession as a kid was a stuffed bear..i used to carry him around with me everywhere, and dress him up in tee shirts and things :P crazy me!
Worst possession? I dont think i really had any...i valued the stuff i got becoz what mattered more to me was the person giving more than the thing in itself...so there wasnt anything that i can call my worst possession :)

The worst thing I ever got as a gift/possession was a gigantic purse made out of the ass of the blue jeans... they must have been for a very large person!!!

most prized possession as a child was my blankie, yep I had a blankie. My mamaw made it for me and it had bambi on it. By the time I got old enough the thing was in rags, my mom had to sneak it out from ontop of me while I was sleeping to wash that sucker.
um I got some clothes from my aunt one time that looked like they were for my grandma, that's the only bad gift I got.

The most prized? The old set of Colliers 'young readers'I inheirited, from an older cousin. About 15 hard cover volumes in all colors of the rainbow. Each volume a collection of classic stories in a theme.Fantasy, Adventure,Mythology, History, etc.I red and reread those books. worst gift? A paint by number, I was insulted my parents would get me that. I was an artist! even as a child. And/or, tied for worst, when starting baton twirling lessons, my Mom bought a child's toy baton, not the same thing. Ouch! a go-back for sure.

My bicycle was my most prized, I took off on that and would be gone all day.It gave me a paper route, it took me downtown, and to the fields and farms of upper peninsula Michigan.
I was free to explore with that bike. And I bought it for myself.
The worst? I loved my gramma, but she hand knit sweaters out of WOOL. prickly stickly wool. I squirmed and itched my way through a few. They always seemed to get a big hole in them fairly soon. huh, how'd that happen?

1. I have this doll who’s name is Bobbi & I’ve had her forever. She is sitting in my bedroom at this very moment…although, I’m sure that my cat has knocked her off the bed, she likes to do that.
2. ET. I hated that movie – still do. Scares the crap outta me & one year for Christmas my aunt & uncle got it for me. Bastards! Ha!

circe, I think I had the same set of books:)
Slash, he was Spikor(dude, I just said I got a bad He-Man figure:P)...and I can't believe you had those as well as Power Rangers:P He-Man figures came out at least 12 yrs before those. And, I know they didn't remake Spikor in 2003.
Still wearing a sweet 16 bracelet??
