Should people have the right to end there own life peacefully, should they wish to?

If animals are put to sleep peacefully when they are suffering, shouldnt it be legal for humans aswell?

Recently I found out that when someone is dying (old people for instance) they dont give them water or food so they die quicker. But surely this is making them suffer? there last days, hours, minutes are thirsty and hungry? Starving them to death?

Putting them to sleep would be less painful and more peaceful.

Yes. And in England it might be possible because of universal health care. It would not deprive doctors of income. In the US no way will the AMA give up all that revenue.

Yes, I wish it were legal here as well. I think it should not only be legal for the terminally ill, but also for those, like me, who have no desire to live. Suicide should be legalized because my life is my own to use or extinguish.

Oregon has been doing it for a while and the feds have been fighting it. The people who have used this option do so peacefully and it is not that big of a deal. I have not heard of people abusing this benifit and I think it is the way to go if you are terminal.

Yes, it should..so long as it was properly organised. Otherwise people would be murdered and those doing it would just say 'they asked to die'...but yes...I think its everyones right to end their life if they chose. Suicide being wrong is based on a religious belief - if you're not religious, you shouldnt have to live by that code.

Yes it should be legal.
Not only for those facing death already, but in other cases where the person is doomed to having to live a life of misery without hopes for a cure.
And finally when a person has shown to have no-will left to go on living, or in other words when someone who is suicidal and has made attempts at taking their own lives.
We have no-problems killing and wounding people all over the world for financial reasons, or just out of the want for power,or because of religion, so why not let those who do not want to live in this inhumane world have the right to end their lives?

I think as horrible as it is, If someone wants to die - they should have a right to die peacefully.

Also - NHS as it stands is starving people so they will die quicker, which is killing them, but in a horrible horrible way. Those people will be suffering, when they could be put to sleep peacefully.

I think it should be legal - for sure.
