An officer from the Met wrote a blog in which he critised the Government for forcing officers to meet targets set by Whitehall muppets. He claims they spend more time trying to meet these targets than fighting serious crime. For instance,a stolen chocolate bar will take up to 4 hours of paperwork, and he claims police are stuck behind desks when then should be out catching criminals.
His blog attracted a million plus hits, and now he's resigned and off to work in Canada.Good luck to him I say.He says he was tempted not to make arrests because these would involve 8 HOURS paperwork and tie-up his shift.Makes sense to me,not to make an arrest then.He also says police officers are attemting to meet government statistics by solving trivial crime!!.He says 80% of his time was wasted.
But get this. Our self-obsessed,performance-related ( in relation to everyone elses job.NOT theirs ) ministers have trashed him. They dismissed his claims as,I quote, 'more of a fiction than Dickens'..WTF!!! Who are these faceless ministers who constantly deny any problems.Do they think we are all thick or something? Why would a police officer do this if he wasn't speaking from experience?Doesn't make sense. He's not going to make money from it.That's for sure.So why don't these overpaid, useless little dickshits ever LISTEN to us,the public? Why?They are so self-absorbed that they wouldn't know reality if it came up and bit them on the balls. It gets right up my nose.I'd like THEM to suffer a really serious crime, only to be left there because all the police officers are tied-up with petty thieves who've nicked a Snickers bar and perhaps a cuddly toy from Toys-R-Us.NIMBY's the lot of them.
Guy Faulkes had the right idea.
