What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
Last night I watched "A Raisin in the Sun" and it was really inspiring. Even though the tone of the movie gets depressing because it seems like the family can never really catch a break, you have to look deeper into the symbols that are used throughout the movie. On the outside the family seems like nothing can go right with their situation, but the great thing about the movie are the DREAMS. Every member of the family has their own DREAM and you have to really feel their struggles and their pain to understand the meaning of their DREAMS. What are your DREAMS? Have they become DEFERRED? What are you doing to keep them from EXPLODING?

I love the way you phrased this, very interesting, Ive been wondering what Im going to do with some of my dreams, I have so many on the shelf. I think I had better take one at a time, dust them off and see how I can make them reality.
nice motivator, thanks

I have a built-in 'dream eraser' that gets rid of the doggone things just prior to awakening for the day!
Nice post!
