I did not imagine starting the 21-Day Fast in the ER, but now nothing in my life seems to go by the book.  It took me a few seconds to register that Willie was truly sick when he came into the room saying that his back was hurting.  I was in a deep sleep and it seemed like just a few minutes before I had finished helping with his court documents and said goodnight.  Well it actually was longer than a few minutes and he was in intense pain at the moment.  We stayed at the hospital for several hours and finally leaving me with less than 2 hours of sleep before I went back to work from Christmas vacation. 

Work was alright. I spent most of the day fighting off sleep and worrying about Willie that i didnt really think about food.  I am not saying that I was not hungry.........quite the opposite I started having hunger pains by about 2:00 p.m. and when I got home at 4:00 I was ready to tear up some food any food.  We ended up eating Jambalaya and baked Potatoes.  We did not have any vegetables in the entire house! Grocery shopping will definetly come soon. 

My late night snacks came as usual and Willie suggested that I drink some water, which helped and we prayed and that kept my mind off of eating. 

I thank you Lord, for giving me the strength to make it through the day without giving into my flesh. I am taking this fast day by day and I know that I can do all things through you Lord.  My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and I want to present it holy and acceptable to you Lord.  Not my will, but Your will be done in and through my life Lord.
