So, I have been back for a few days now and what can I say?
First of all: I am kinda cold now that I am back. I so got used to temperatures around 105, and even 108, degrees, that now Southern California feels cold ;-) But well, everyone who knows me, knows that I freeze easily anyways.
Well, anyways, anyone who said Oklahoma was ugly: It's so NOT! It is beautiful. Amazing. I loved it. For real.
When we didn't have to be in training, Lenny and I went to the lake, swam, rode the jet ski, had fun, went up to the mountains, went hiking and so on and so on. We also went to Oklahoma City to see the Bombing Memorial. That made me cry.
We also saw 2 other museums... and yea, we had a great time.
One night we just got our instruments (guitar for me, bass for Lenny) and played in a small bar :) We really loved it.
I might be posting some pics soon :) If I am in the mood ;)
While I was in Oklahoma, my girlfriend went home to Colorado to visit her folks. She enjoyed it, too. She even brought her sailboat back to California. She had told me several times how much she misses sailing, so I think it is cool she brought one of her boats :) She can go sailing here now. She brought her Hobie Cat 20. She also owns a 17, but that one is currently broken.
Actually it broke just recently. Jo told me, she went sailing on the lake and after the first tack her side stays broke, which caused her boom to break and then she got demasted. Her mast base is damaged too, so she needs to get new side stays, a new boom and a new mast base and a few minor things. That's going to be around 500 bucks, but at least no one got injured.
I have no real clue about sailing, I have crewed before, but that's it. Jo is the expert there ;-)
Well, on one hand I am happy to be back, on the other hand, I really enjoyed being away and it could have been a little longer ;-)
