It was warmer than LA here today.
Weird, yet lovely. Perhaps one of the nicest weekends we'll get to have until next year and I happen to be working 32 hours of the 48 hours it is here. Sad. BUT...I am sure there will be another nice weekend. A few fellow runners from my Run Club ran in the Chicago marathon today, it was 87 degrees and, from what I hear, humid. Leslie, Melissa and Bryana all ran it, Leslie had a goal of around 4 hours, Melissa a goal of 4.5 hours and Bryana a goal of under 4 hours. Leslie's time was 5:19, Melissa's was 5:09, and Bryana's was 4:59. It was not a good day for reaching goals, 87 and humid are terrible conditions for running a 26.2 miles, especially since none of us have trained in heat since late August and long runs are usually done in the mornings when it's cooler in the first place (unless you're like me and can't wake up). At any rate, I feel bad for everyone, but I'm glad they all finished and are not inured from the event. I am sure they won't be running for at least a week, and are having a LOT of trouble walking today.

I am so excited to be done with work tonight in 30 minutes and then go home and relax. Then have a WEEK off. WOW. I can't remember the last time I had a week off of work. I've only taken 2 vacations in my life, the last one was in 2004. I can't wait to test out my knee and see how the progress is coming. I've been walking Bailey pretty regularly and after 2 miles it starts to get pretty sore and swollen...part ofthis could be from dehydration, however. But I figureĀ 2 miles is pretty good considering it's been a week. Tuesday I am going to get back to the gym and test out the pool, I don't expect any troubles there. The only time it might possibly hurt is when pushing off the wall, but I seriously doubt that even. I really enjoy swimming, it's too bad I don't do it more. I would love to do a triathlon next year, just a sprint distance though, which is a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. I don't predict that to be too difficult. This week, I'd also like to go on a bike ride, miles TBD by the progress of my knee, as well as lots of Yoga. I think I'm mostly excited to do nothing, honestly. I love being by myself and this whole week will give me a lot of that.

I forgot the rest of the stuff I was going to say now. I got sidetracked by work, paused for a while, and now I honestly don't remember. Ugh. I might not be on here much this week since I'm not at work. We shall see.
