| Bum knee, still pushing despite!

My knee has really been hurting the last week or so. Right below my kneecap it feels like there's a knife jabbing into the underside of my knee cap. My kneecap also hurts to the touch, it feels like underneath it is where the pain is originating. This is known as Runner's Knee. Not much I can do about it except rest it. I just gotta get through my BIG RACE this Sunday and then I will rest.
I am 4 days from the big day, and my nerves are starting to kick in! Sunday is the day I have been training for since May! Back in May I couldn't fathom running a 10-mile race, now I know I can run it! That's a pretty powerful and exhilirating experience!
Last night I thought we were just doing a 5 mile, easy run, but we did intervals. We ran to this spot in the neighborhood by the gym, which was about 1.6 miles out, did 4 x 800's, and then ran back. Tonight I am going to walk Bailey, do some yoga, and then sit on the bike at the gym while I read some of my homework that is due on Sunday. School has started back up for the fall. I have an accounting class and a human resources class. I haven't had accounting since 2004 so I hope I can catch up quickly!
Tomorrow night I am RIDICULOUSLY excited for. We're running with CARRIE TOLLEFSON!!!! If you don't know who that is, google it or something. She is an olympic runner from Minnesota. She runs with the USATF team here in MN and she is also a spokesperson for eating local foods! She's on the cover of this month's Runners World!!! I am totally bringing it and getting it signed by her! I am so excited!!!! :-) She is one of my idols, her and Kara Goucher (gotta support the Minnesotans)!
I also have cut cheese out of my diet until I am ready to eat it again. I don't like how my body reacts to it, plus it's not even good for us, so I just got rid of it. If it weren't for baked goods I'd ALMOST be a vegan. I currently just call myself a lactose intolerant pescatarian, ha! I know I can make my own baked goods without eggs and milk, it's just a matter of me turning them down from other people! I LOVE SWEETS! It's a bad habit I have. Although I have been reading about the Master Cleanser and they say that is one thing it helps to eliminate cravings for. I ordered the book for this from Amazon and can't wait to get it in the mail and start reading it! That is, between all of my homework...
Balance is a tough thing to maintain...
