A smile and a wave
More than several times in my life I have been pleasantly greeted by a smile and wave, not any smile and wave however, it’s one that demonstrates a true harnessed elation. It’s a flash of childish delight the edges of it laced with the same things that compel young girls to write love notes with hearts drawn in the corners to a boy across the classroom. It’s short lived, the wave is close to the body, a full hand wriggling quickly from side to side for almost a whole second, the smile hardly waning as she anticipates the encounter, as she waits for me.
