I know some of my family has a wager on what province my jeep will break down in.  Well it is running beautifully despite blowing a rad hose 300 km east of Regina.

So I'm driving though Manitoba and my dad says "Craig the heat looks a little high." I figured it was just the crappy temp gauge but sure enough the temp was through the roof. I pulled over and popped the hood to find steam I didn't see when driving along.

I was lucky for a few reasons
1 - the weather was nice (we had been driving through snow and rain the past few days)
2 - the highway was all but empty
3 - there was a farmhouse with a bunch of scrap cars on the lawn nearby and a very friendly couple.

I found a pinhole leak in one of the hose's. I cut out the offending section and put her back together, walked over to the farmhouse for a bucket of water and was good to go.

The fuse had blown in the electric fan and pressure had built up etc. etc.  Anyway no harm done. It was actually pretty exciting and an east coast jeeper named Wess stopped to make sure I was alright. He and his girlfriend Sara are pretty much taking the same trip I am up to Kelowna, where they will be staying while he works the diamond mines up north. We are going to keep in touch along the way.

We've met some really cool people along the way.  Everyone loves the CJ.  I keep getting comments about how low it is in the rear end.  I told dad to lose some weight but that dosn't seem to be working.

We drove to Moose Jaw today and are at a nice motel.  No camping yet, still too cold.  Looking at the weather we may be driving through a lot of snow tomorrow in Alberta, should be fun.  Hopefully we will have a chance to camp in B.C.  Anyway time for the pics.
