Well we made it all the way to Hearst the first day with some really fun surprises along the way. The Jeep sure sucked back the petro but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. We are over 1000 kms into the trip with about 120 litres burned.
I drove the morning and handed the keys to Dad at about 2pm. My nervousness about letting him drive was unessecary. He started with no hop or shutter. To be honest he was a lot better than I was my first time driving He is still getting used to the steering but is learning quick. All in all I am very impressed. I know he used to drive farm trucks and tractors but that was a long time ago (insert old man joke here, I'm too tired).
We drove through Matice and I re-visited a monument I last saw over 6 years ago on a canoe trip up the Missinaibi river. The monument was a tribute to the voyagers and was basically a portager with a canoe over his head.
The weight of my luggage is causing my tires to rub on the fenders in the back when I go over big bumps. Its not a huge problem but I will trim a little more some time soon, good thing I brought my tools. Anyway I'm off to bed. Stay tuned for pictures, I will update in the morning.
