We are running around like turkeys looking for the top toys for Christmas 2012. A lot of industries have their eyes on one big day of the year- Christmas. The reason why is that in the fourth quarter companies experience the largest amount of sales. Whatever is going to be the top toy for Christmas 2012 will bring a tremendous amount of money to its creator.
We have been to several events trying to look for the toy that has the it factor. We have seen several great toys. Recently, we were invited to Hamleys at the end of summer. After going to the show, here’s what stood out to us.
Hamleys has raced out of the gate with the very first top ten toy list. Some of the toys that stood out are the new Barbie dolls called Fashionistas. The Fashionistas are a new Barbie line. Girls can express their own fashion sense with these dolls. There is a new robot dog this year. It is called FurReal Cookie. This is one of the realistic looking toy dogs ever. It looks and moves so realistically. Every year these robot dogs are getting closer and closer to the real thing. Eventually we won’t need real dogs. These robot dogs don’t need to be fed or cleaned. The target market is probably girls since these dogs won’t even attempt to bite your hand off.
And then there is Elmo. This is not Tickle me Elmo. Elmo has been reinvented for the rock n roll generation. He looks like a rock star. He’s got a black tee and a set of drums and a guitar. The only thing he is missing are the girls and drugs. Hasbro is calling the new Elmo doll, Let’s Rock Elmo. He’s not cheap but he is one of the hottest toys. He’s got a microphone, tambourine, and drums. He can even recognize the instruments. Kids can even additional instruments that are sold separately. There are so many top toys for Christmas 2012.
