| Shoot out at Fort Hood |
Wow didja hear about the shootings at Fort Hood? For those of you who don't live in the US Fort Hood is a major military base in Texas. Apparently at least 2 persons ran around the base shooting people. I think I heard 12 dead so far and up to 31 injured.
What could bring someone to go so nuts? I mean this isn't just 1 person so it was a case of someone going nuts. Could it have been a shared psychosis? Presumably these were army personnel. WHat could drive them so nuts?
The shooting started at a plce where the personnel received thir final checkup before going to Iraq. Could that be significant? The shooter who started it there was a 40 yr old sergeant (sergeant major?) so he wasn't a newbie. What made him go nuts like that? I think they said he was killed. Good for him.
I feel so bad for those injured and killed, and their families. My niece just came home from there a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad she's home and not in the middle of that. I can't imagine how the families of soldiers stationed there must feel right now.
Effing wackos like that oughta be put outta their misery, and ours too. Don't take them alive, put 'em down where they belong.
And of all places - an army base? WHat? Why didn't they take these guys out before they could hurt so many? Aren't they trained in armed combat? What about the MP's? Aren't they trained to subdue armed soldiers? I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time understanding how come a squad of soldiers wasn't dispatched to take care of these guys. Perhaps it has to do with the law? Maybe they're not allowed to? But what about self defense?
Well my prayers go out to all those soldiers and their families.
