 What's Your Wiki?

Does it really matter which wiki you wiki on?

Yes, it does. Some wikis are more "you" than other wikis. Some wikis are less so. Only you will know this.

It isn't time to name wikis. Only to tell you what to watch for:

  • Confrontational forums
  • Fast and unrelenting reverts of your edits
  • Encouragement of your edits
  • Friendly forums
  • Nitpicking - positive or negative
  • Hounding by editors who claim things such as "I have been here longer than you", "I teach everyone here and you need to learn"
  • A group of very opinionated and bossy "leaders"
  • Kind and friendly helpers
  • Freedom to innovate
  • Punishment for new ideas
Get the drift? What you like in life, you need to look for in a wiki too.
