NO you have NOT done anything wrong on this site that I have observed.

Yes Frags needs this site more than it likely needs him....and frankly his remaining here is likely going to continue. When he is blogging his happy self... he fits a bill that some enjoy.

This obsession he has with you ~ you and I know will eventually go away... right now he has a few that unwittingly are encourgaing him... but it all will slide away.... and once again Thoughts will be quiet (for a while).....

I am sad to see that he has chosen you but I also recognize you are able to deal with it to most extents....

You mention he has numerous 'friends' and I trust you realize that the friends invite/request thingi is as much a tool as the stumbleupon buttons and RSS feeds.

I am the last one to say .. dont get too overly discouraged over the current thoughts for tomorrow will be a new day.... becuz I too have gotten discouraged.

Just rock out some more of your writings... I LIKE reading them... and... thank you for sharing them here.

i have not said that timothy has done any wrong here, all i am saying is he should fess up to his hitting refresh and be a man, he would gain a hell of a ot of respect from me if he did, but as long as he continues to try and make me look stupid to hide his refreshing obbsesion then i will never respect him.
he really is a brilliant blog writer and he does'nt need to do that crap.
just saying you know, he is just making the site look stupid when he abuses it in that manner.

1. there is no difference in me using your name and you posting about me with a knitting blog. People know what we are talking about here.
2. You have no evidence. how do i know this? because i do not do the boosting thing that you accuse me of. there can be no evidence if the person didn't commit the act. You searched for 'TimothyStevenDowns' and found nothing. Try search for 'TimothyDowns'. I think the reason you never posted this is because you realize the invalidity of it all. (I don't think anyone will accuse you of taking the morel high-ground in this little dispute)
3. Am I to understand that you will now spend time boosting a blog of yours in order to prove a point? will this return balance to the thoughts site? Have you stopped to think about what point it will prove. I mean relay stopped to think. I'm sure you will realize how ridiculous it all is.
4. Have you considered the implications if you are wrong? I know right now you feel certain, but even you must understand that there is at least a chance that you have got this wrong. That i am being honest and in fact have not done anything wrong. I know you have tried stumble and not received the same results, but its about tags and audience. It is possible there are a larger number of people stumbling for science fiction stories then there are stumbling for poems about flowers. How could you be comfortable with taking this chance (no matter how slim you might think it is)? And if (or when) you realize you are wrong, how will you justify your actions, to me, to the other members and to yourself.
5. I don't think this issue is about 'boosting' any more. It is my experience that most people really don't care about the hit list. This issue is about people thinking that they have the right to shit on the little guy. I don't care what you think about my hits, I care that you think it is ok to accuse, and poke fun and threaten. Now this isn't real life, its just a silly site, but if you act in the world anything like you have shown here, i pity the people close to you.

Lets say for the sake of saying - so what if he hits the refresh button? Is it that big a crime for someone to want to be on top?
Why does it bother YOU so bad if this guy did do it? Is it taking away from your readers? Is it causing you due harm to see this guy as holding the #1 spot? Or is it just that YOU want that spot and can't stand that someone else holds that "title"?

no but it is taking away from the spirit of the site, everyone is quick to judge me and jump on my back if i do anything wrong, and it makes me sick that this refreshing crap goes on, i have a little surprise coming timothy's way just to prove a point.
i know you are one of his friends and to look out for a friend is good and i admire your loyalty, but although i look out for many here, not many will look out for me, anly my closest friends do that because we know what goes on here.

Yay Irish - I agree - with you also if Thoughts didn't want the Stumble application to be used along with thoughts.com they would never have put the button there - also it's good advertising for thoughts - I've "stumbled" accross alot of blogs here on thoughts - how i first came to know the site honestly :)

Alright all. I have just received a mail from Frag that i believe to be the end of the dispute. I don't think either of us was prepared to back down but i think we both wanted the silliness to end. I think we can finally call this matter closed and all breath a sigh of relief.

Timothy..I just wanted to assure you I am in cahoots with no one. I wrote the Stumble Upon post that I wrote to help people understand what I found out about hits on this site coming from other sites. I did my little experiment on SU with little regard for how it would affect the people on that site, which I learned was selfish of me. I did not even know that you and Fraggle had an issue, as I stay away from drama whenever possible. I respect your opinion on personal blogs, and have no issues with you whatsoever. I think all of this wrangling over the stop spot is quite silly. Popularity is not a great big deal to me. I joined this site to read and learn about other people, not to argue over who pushed the refresh button, versus who might have gained their popularity from writing really good posts. I think sometimes people lose the spirit with which this site was created. There is room for everyone, and I am glad you are here. Keep on keeping on.

I used to write a blog called Top of the Pops, now its used as a slogan for the bloody thing, man do I regret writing it but I was new and just making observations.
