 Rant of the Day
Hello, I'm TigerEyes and I'm wondering.

Why is it that you're always told: Think like this. Dress like this. Act like this. BE like this. I know girls my age who bend over backwards and ruin their lives to fit this image. I'm one of those crazy tomboys who hates all things 'girlie'. Not that I have anything against make-up and dresses and getting all dolled up occasionally. Actually, I'd quite enjoy it if my parents weren't so overbaring. One main memory that sticks out mentioning that is last aungust. My cousin had her Quineceara (spelling?). The first week of August. Funny thing, her 15th birthday was in June. So I had to travel on MY birthday, miss my camp, and have a whole lot of kids angry with me for missing that. (Turns out I'm, unknowingly, a big deal for those kids.)  Then I had to get all dressed up for the one cousin I hate. I didn't mind getting dressed up, letting my mother and older cousin do my hair and make-up.

What I did mind is EVERYONES reaction. Just because I'm the girl who prefers jeans, a graphic tee or tank top (typically guy tank tops, they have a longer torso), a hoodie, and skater shoes. Does NOT mean people have the right to freak out when I wear a dress. I'm about to the point where I will never dress up near them again. The only reason I don't dress 'girlie' is because everyone has to make their smart little comments about it. I can't wear anything form fitting without hearing people whispering about me.

Life is too important to be taken seriously. Oscar Wilde said that. I agree. People take things too seriously, and don't understand change, or difference. I'm still a kid. I'm learning. Making mistakes- big and small ones- but I'm learning from them. So is everyone. No one has ever learned everything they can learn. Life is all about learning, learning to be a better person, learning to live life to the fullest, learning to love, learning to move on from that first heartbreak. I still have much to learn. But so does everyone else.

Now, I'm done with my most likely incoherent rant for the night. I gotta jet.
