| When Good Relationships Go Bad

When good relationships go bad...How do you deal with getting over someone? I guess that depends on how the relationship ended. So I guess an even better question is...How do you end a bad relationship? I realized there are several different methods...
The Duck and dodge method. Meaning simply avoid the other person, stop answering the phone when they call, stop going to the same places for a while..leave him/her confused til he/she catch on and leave...
Leaving a "Dear John" or "Dear Joan" letter. Either leaving it in his/her mailbox or slippin it on his/her car..long as he/she gets it..Some may say this is also a chicken approach, but sometimes breaking up is hard to do..
Also there is the old dumb excuse..Like I'm moving out of town, or even acting retarded...
But back to the original blog question..after you break up with someone..How do you rebound? Some say the best way to get over somebody...is to get under somebody. Some, or maybe most women go for the chocolate and ice cream. Others turn to drinking and drugs. Honestly, depression is a real M$&^AF$%^A!
Some men and women will go running back...You find the strength to leave, and after a month of being lonely..go running back...Many friends got that Mary J Blige attitude...they're not running back! They have gone celibate over the past many months..Kudos to them...it takes a strong man/woman to save herself....
O.k. Your turn...first, How do you break up with someone? Stop calling, just tell them, let them screw up....
and second..How do you deal with getting over somebody? Let us know here on TigahBee...the floor is yours...

I've learned that the "duck and dodge method" isn't wise either - it's better to just tell them in a tactful manner that you both aren't compatible or whatever the reason is.
Now if you don't feel comfortable in person, telling them over the phone or sending them an email - explaining your reasons why things aren't working out for you is suggested too.
For me personally, getting over a bad break is best when I'm busy, because as they say "an idle mind is stagnate." For as many people that I know leaving/breaking out of a bad relationship, I know just as many staying. I say peace of mind is worth more than anything.

thanks for the post Ifeelcrazy, I definitely understand trying to end things in an amicable way. I would definitely not like being on that end of the spectrum. I guess simple lessons like we learned in kindergarten still apply...do as to others as you would have done to you. Feel free to ceck back regularly.
