| no ID? just wear the "cool clothes"

Ever heard the expression "never judge a book by its cover"? Of course you have. But for high school the saying is more... "always judge a teen by their clothes tag" you think I am exagerating? I decided that I wanted to know exactly how blind people are to how they recieve people. I went out and bought 3 outfits from 3 diffrent "popular" stores. I also went and bought 3 new outifts from target, where I like to buy my clothes. I wore the 3 target outfits 3 days in a row. tried to talk to certain "types" of people and my efforts failed. Well the next week, I wore the 3 "popular" outfits and when I made the effort to the same people, they scanned me over and let me in. A little at first but it got much easier after about 10 min. I asked where they had gotten a particular item, they responded and then asked about mine also, when I said the name of the stores they said, to some extent, "OMG! i love that store! *giggle* i have this sweater in like, 4 colors!" I have to admit that i missed the attention after I went back to my regular non-budget breaking attire. I just wanna know... why is it so easy for people to assume your cool just because you can afford to spend so much money on the least amount of fabric? COME ON SFH! wake up! GOODNESS!
