 The Nintendo DSi
Now I really didn't ant to be in this situation because when ever I buy new console I have regret. Why? because a new console means that I'm going to be stuck with the same games all summer otherwise known as the PS3 set back treatment. However seeing the next game to grip me doesn't come out until Christmas-y time when I'll be living on curry and alcohol will be my water i figure I'll afford money for games there and then. I may be repeating my self but I feel obliged to point out that I paid £170 for my DSi. That was a black DSi, Mario and Sonic and a 2 year warranty. If you are saying why Mario and Sonic well there were two choices. Choice A, £150 no game, B, £150 game. So it was kind of a no brainier and Mario and Sonic seemed like the only game remotely worth it off the choice of four I decided to add that to my collection. Now that £170 came from EMA, and birthday money and so I didn't even have to work for my DSi.

DSs are everywhere, along with Wiis. I mean Wiis and DSs are in more households than windows and doors in the white house or taller par cm - person than the empire state building, I mean I expect nothing less now than to be offered DS accessories and Games as a sample on my way into game (UK games store). Now I still have my DS lite seeing as my EMA bonus paid out and I therefore didn't have to trade it in, so the advance slot change isn't exactly a big thing. Let me run down the changes, well the ones I saw noticeable.
The DSi is thinner in both dimensions and the join from top to bottom doesn't click as much which makes me feel a little more confident about it.
The DSis screens are a little bigger- now I noticed this upon playing on the first day, and since having it for almost a week now I notice it but nothing more
It has an SD card - For picture and Sounds
Now I feel like I'm missing the big advantage which is:
Two cameras - now if you think this or the sound recorder is any reason to get this console then you'll be disappointed. Now my little sister who's 10 seems to enjoy it but then again she is Ten and I expect nothing less. Now I have used the camera past the first day but to be quite fair only to see what I really look like whilst singing drunk.

Now in all fairness thoughs are advantages the big one for my was the shop and the Internet on the DSi. Now if you want to use anything that requires Flash or any such plug-ins eg, You-tube then forget this. It is only for looking at things, however it does have E-Buddy upon my sister's discovery which was surprising seeing as Face-book doesn't really work on it. Now lets talk shop. You are given 1000 DSi points to begin with and the web browser for the moment doesn't take anything up in that there because it's the only free application on there. Now the Wii Points and DSi point are separate and you can't send them back ways nor for-ways which could of been made so much simpler with a simple login system. The shop is as slow and horrid as the Wii one and I don't know about you but the only reason of why I spent somewhere in the regeon of £30 on the Wii shop was because of the SNES games. Therefore I expected at the least a NES game or two on the shop. The shop its self is pretty bare and I don't know weather the news section starts from when you first connect but it appears they update on a Friday with one new game which fills in the gaps of things to look forward to, in my weekly calender.

Now what did I get with my 1000 points? well the first thing was the free browser. Next was the Animal Crossing clock or at least I think it was. Either way I got that pretty quickly. Now this is the alarm system I'd been waiting for. Multiple alarms, your own sounds or Animal crossing sounds. For 200 points I'd expect nothing less. The next was the paper airplane 'ware'. Now this is probably the best unique little game I've ever played. It was new, pretty original and gripped me. I find my self every-time I get bored beating my last score. The time trials were easy and slightly too easy but all the more fun. There is multilayer using the D-pad and action buttons but I don't see my self using it. Now the next thing I did was to change my Star points from the DSi into another 100 wii points via the Internet. Now i remember a time when I had to refresh once an hour to get my hands on these points but I guess though's days are over seeing as the Wii isn't so popular with the hardcore crew these days. I bought the Mario calculator because it sounded cool. It wasn't too much. It is a standard calculator with Mario jumping up and down with coins coming out every-time you press =. oh and there are conversion calculators too. The last ware I bought was Wario Ware. Now I don't know about you but this seemed like one of the few good sides to the DSi camera. What did we receive however? a game that toke me nearly 5minutes to get the camera in place and when I finished it failed to recognize most of my movements. For some reason a fairly bright skinned person of my self requires a Black screen behind him but all I had was light blue which handled like a midget dancing next to the sky. Not too sure where I was going with that one. Either way the hype was for nothing and I haven't touched it since.

Now the last bits and pieces. I did notice the sound difference with the new speakers however it's nothing to go to the bank with. Power button seemed like a good move however I want to be warned before going to the menu when playing games. So I can see that being a problem although so far it hasn't been. I'm sure that could be fixed with firmware though.

Was it worth it? yes. I think so, yes it not a big step forward but I think its worth it because you can do a lot more with it and there ain't going to be a lot of games this summer so you may as well get one.

I went the Wii route this summer instead of the DSI. I still like my 360 better than the Wii. I just cant get used to the control pad for Wii. I just spent 40$ on the old school pads though so I might start liking it more.

I am getting a better feel for ya. Starting to think your alright too. We wont agree on everything but thats cool with me since you seem to be able to debate with out name calling and such. I hope you accept a offer of friendship.

FYI: I read your blogs in reverse order so if your starting here keep that in mind.
