I have this one necklace and if I could only have one piece of jewelry this would be it.
It is nothing extravagant but a simple and small pendent on a thin silver chain.
Simple things are often the best in this world.
The pendent is a silver torch and rose, an important symbol of my life.
It is me, of where I was for the last seven years.
A reminder of where I've been, and what helped me to become.
An independent spirit with a will to continue on.
It gives me strength when I am weak.
One of my most cherished belongings that is me.
One day, I will pass it on to my daughter, give a symbol of her mother to keep forever.
This rose and torch, the place that once was home, my past going with me to the future.
