Well it's a lovely sunny day here in England. I'm busy contacting a couple of local radio stations to see if they will be able to give me some airplay for the new song that I have made. I wrote, performed, recorded and published it all by myself. It took a while to do, but I am very pleased with the end result.
There is so much required when getting a song finished and polished and ready for the consumer market. My song is called 'The Only Girl' and my band's name is The Grenyah Option. I am a solo artist and I am fortunate enough to be able to all my sound recording and mastering on a PC. It's certainly a lot easier than paying all that money for a studio sound engineer and then paying for the studio and others.
So i was thinking how can I get my song out there to people without having to get signed. The answer... I formed my own record label and use it to publish my music. Well, iTunes released my song on 13 October 2007, which has pleased me. There is a radio station in Norfolk that help out and they allow independent artists to run the radio station (their own show) for a whole hour. I think that is a brilliant idea. All that publicity in 96 countries (they are a digital radio station) and to all those people.
Oh well, time for me to have my afternoon nap. :)

Best of luck to you! I write and sing as well and understand where you are coming from. Very cool you can do this yourself. The technology has made things so much more digitized and available for those of us that love to create but no funds to get our music out there. I find it awesome that you have a radio station that supports independent song writers.
