Willows
I saw the trees
My salvation
And I cried
For they wept for me
As angels would weep for me
The tethers that cut into their skin
Their writhing arms fight for me
And I am bound by their blood
For their tethers are my roots
Their tears are my anchors
Their fight
Their suffering
Angels suffer for my prayers
For my fears
For my salvation from myself
Because my salvation suffered for me
My salvation weeps for me
And my wrists bleed
And my flesh burns
And the trees die in my eyes
I saw the trees
they wept and die for me
Because I could cry no more
Behind the D.A.M.
The raindrops are on fire
In my mind
In my heart
But my eyes shouldn't be so lucky
My eyes have been tainted
Jaded
Washed, buried, and swept away
and the fire no longer warms my eyes
I shouldn't be so lucky
Lucky enough to see the good in you
The hope
The love
The faith thta burns the coldest of hearts
The raindrops are on fire there
In my mind
In my heart
But my tears have washed away my hope
My guilt has buried my love
And the silence
The silence that answers my prayers has swept away my faith
But I beg you
You who holds all the things that life has taken from my eyes
Hold this flame and take my hand
And let me feel what the raindrops hold
Smiling No More
Smile
That childish gesture
Flashing innocence to me
Innocence that I lost so soon
Chipped away like the pieces of my heart
Broken with no regard
And it was so fragile
Yet so neccessary to my existence
I would weep for innocence
I would weep for my heart
I would weep
I would weep for all the years gone
All the pieces lost
All the smiles tht are free from the weight of the world
I would weep
But I lost the tears for weeping
I lost them long before I lost innocence
Otherwise I would weep for all the smiles
The smiles that will be lost
Lost to dry eyes
