 Anyone can do it
Anyone can gain respect.

Why do I say this?
I met some new people at the local bar on Friday night, I had money left over from payday... and decided to go out and get drunk. I met this really nice (and pretty) woman... who approached me. I then met her boyfriend (ouch) Chris, and found out that they both met at the bar after nasty splits with their ex partners. Chris, who was married 10 years and then divorced suddenly... sat and listened to me as I ranted about my recent split with Christine, and gave me the advice I've been looking for. I think I may have made a damp impression on them, but its ok... I'll run into them another time I'm sure. For most of the night though, I had their upmost respect.
So thankyou Chris and Renae (if thats how you spell it) for giving me some deperately-needed advice and friendship... I hope to catch up with you soon.
How did I gain the respect of these two strangers? How did I manage to get personal with them only after three hours of meeting? Maybe alcohol helped... but theres more to it.
One thing Chris told me, and I hate to think that its true... is that "Theres no such thing as Love". Love is just a figment of our imagination, and that undescribable feeling we get?... its not love, its lust.
Another thing he told me. was to NEVER GET MARRIED. The woman will then feel tied in, and will fight harder to get out... and it will also give them a right to take half of your shit. Thieves.

So, what exactly shed this new light on my opinions? Friends who are much older, and know what they're talking about. Yes, I'm sure there is a form of "love" out there, and some of us are lucky enough to find it... but I'm not one of them, and I won't go looking for it. Besides, it is said that love will come to those who wait... theres no need to chase it.

Keep your feet clean :)
