Ok, so as a teacher, and as a member of a large metropolitan area with a lot of poverty, etc, I believe that people should have to have a license to have kids.
Yes, I said it. A LICENSE. Here is the thing, I don't make much money, and it ticks me off that I am paying for people that are irresponsible and have kids before they are financially, emotionally, or socially ready for them. It makes me mad that I pay for their juicy juice and eggs when at the end of the month (I get paid monthly) I can't afford to buy my OWN juicy juice and eggs. You need to have a job in order to provide for your own kids. That's just what I think. So there's one requirement, both parties need to either have a job, or be together with one person able to financially support the spouse or significant other AND the kids they have.
I'm not getting down on just the people that aren't financially ready here. I'm talking about EVERYONE. Including the dumb women that get pregnant to try to keep a man. You should be FINED!! You need to be in a stable relationship or be willing to accept the fact that you will be supporting this child on your OWN financially and emotionally BEFORE YOU GET PREGNANT. Hence license... so people should consider...I think I'm ready for a child, I'll go fill out the paperwork and get approved. If this means you are single, FINE, but you have to sign on the line that you realize that you are single and getting pregnant. Would less single women JUST trying to hold onto a man get pregnant?? I would hope so!!
There are many precautions out there, and yes, I know of course you can't force a woman to take any medication that she doesn't want to take. But there are many ways that you can avoid pregnancy, and of course it will happen sometimes, but if you don't take the precautions that is YOUR fault and you should get in trouble!! You should have to prove you took precautions or something. These are just ideas obviously I realize there are a lot of holes in this argument. lol-- I know I've probably got some people angry with me at this point but hey, you can't drive without a license, if you do, you get in trouble!
There are too many kids, too many people being irresponsible. I am not a bible thumper, I am definitely not against sex, I've been having sex for a long time, almost 10 years and I've never gotten pregnant. Not because I'm lucky, because I take responsibility for my actions. And you better believe had I gotten pregnant, there's no way my Republican dad would allow me to collect welfare.
Almost all of my friends have kids, this doesn't come from being sheltered or anything like that. But after spending a day at a mini-golf and go-cart course in Southern California, a girl can get pretty frustrated.
Guys should be responsible too, if you are stupid and go get drunk and don't wear a condom, pay a fine. If you have too many kids and don'twant more, get a vysectomy! Also, pay for your kids!! Whether you wanted them or not, mistake or not! Women should be able to rely on YOU, not on us. TAKE PRECAUTIONS PEOPLE, if it takes fining people in order to get them to act a little more responsibly maybe that's what we should do.
I know there are many holes in this argument, I'm not submitting this to congress, I'm just venting. So yes, I know I've pissed a lot of people off by now but sometimes I just think we need to rethink our ways. I want my whole paycheck to save up for when I can apply to have my own child someday with my loving boyfriend/hopefully husband by then :)

u need a license to fish, have a pet, drive a car, own a business and to hunt but for one the most important jobs in the universe you just get it for nothing....being a parent....go figure....i know some people that should never have been parents and some i hope will never be parents and some i think the children that they have would be soooo lucky to be born to them..... maybe i'll get boooed off the stage for saying that but it is sooo true... K
Thanks K... agreed. And you are right, there are so many people that deserve kids that can't have them and that is sad, they should be able to have first pick :)
hahaha....this entry was hilarious. You should go off on tangents more often. I worked with a girl once, and actually overheard her getting excited she was pregnant with her 2nd kid because "I get more money from the government". She should be fined, and have her ovaries taken from her! haha
i'm also tired of paying for everyone's mistakes. living in a economically diverse area, i see it all the time. i wouldn't even think of going to the grocery store before the 7th of the month, because there's nothing left! while i'm counting money and groceries because i work for a living, the cart infront of me has lobsters, steaks, and enough to feed a baseball team...all paid by the sweet state of VA on their "cardinal card". i just want to be able to keep what i worked hard for.
everyone was outraged when china rolled out their "one child system" where you had to pay for having more children....but honestly, they had the right idea in mind. i don't know how we would govern those that chose not to pay fines or adhere to the rules...would they be considered criminals?
