Well I got home from work yesterday, and B and I didn't even speak to each other for two hours. I think neither one of us really knew what to say or how to initiate the conversation. He finally came into the extra bedroom (where my friendly floor is located, ha) and asked me if I wanted to talk.
I said sure and we talked it out. He told me what hurt him, I told him what hurt me, yadda yadda yadda. We came to the conclusion that we have to stop thinking about us so separately and try to make this more of a joint effort and with more communication.
I'm closing my bank account on Tuesday and opening a new one closer to home, and he is going to be on it. Both of our checks will be deposited in the account and then we will have our separate respective savings account which we both agreed would still be joint money, but going for different things. Me= money to make it through the summer (summer school only covers one month instead of three) and also saving up for a nice vacation we'd like to be able to someday take... him for investing/stocks/saving more money for the future. We had agreed on this scenario a long time ago just didnt put it into action-- hopefully it will be settled soon.
Now watch as a month down the road, I post about having the same fight. ha-- not gonna lie, it could entirely happen.
K-- that's that.
Other things-- ummm my best friend is obsessed with drama. She's currently in the process of stirring up drama with her boyfriend's family. I told her to stay out of it from now on!! She is coming to visit for the fourth of July with her boyfriend and B thinks there will be drama with his friend that is also coming to visit at that time... we shall see!!
Oh, since you all know how much I love/respect my boss(es). This week, is finals week. Except for Monday, students have early dismissal (12:40) every day. Friday is our end of the year BBQ at a park outside of the ghetto. Our administration kept harping on us how we have to stay until 3:30 contractually, etc etc etc... which YES, technically we do. And so do they... However, they ALL took a 2 hour lunch together yesterday.
So what did Miss Megan do? Miss Megan took a lunch too... From 2:30-3:30, at her home. :) ...oops.
Oh, and then they decided to go ahead and extend the BBQ for some stupid ass "awards" ceremony that they like to do every month as if our jobs aren't heinous enough. At the last minute. We got an email YESTERDAY about it... after parents had been informed of the 12:40 dismissal/schedule, kids had no idea it had been changed, we had no idea it had been changed, etc. What kind of bullshit is that seriously!? come ON!
All the other teachers are all giddy, "Only one day left Megan! Yayy" Too which I turn around and say "for YOU, us poor people have to teach six hour a day summer school classes." LoL... I'm a little jaded today, eh? Well I mean, I'm aways jaded...because I'm TheAlreadyJaded.
Oh and then-- how annoying is THIS?! (I mean is it just me or am I, and most of you lovely bloggers, the only smart people left in the world?) So anyway, we don't have a parking lot... our parking lot is the lunchroom/PE area... I know, very ghetto. Anyway, so we have to park on the street, so as I'm pulling up there are three cars going to park on the same street... so the first one pulls up to the curb and takes the first place (mind you this is like half a block its not like they would have to walk far had they chosen to just pull up all the way.) So I'm like... what a jackass... then the IDIOT 9th grade English teacher does a parallel park right in front of him! Then the car in front of me does the same thing! So I have to do a parallel park in between them, when we all could have just pulled up and pulled ahead in a nice line.
So the teachers all get out... Good Morning! Almost done! Three more Days!
Me: Um, hey guys, couldn't we all just have pulled forward and parked?
Them: Oh HAHAHAH, that just would have been *too* easy and no fun now wouldnt it??
Me: I guess that just makes a little too much sense.
Seriously. It's hump day. It's 7 AM. It's not MY last week. Shut up. AND PULL YOUR CAR FORWARD!

I hope everything works out with you guys and the joint checking account.
And, as far as your colleagues are concerned, I agree - the way they chose to park was a dumb ass move.

I'm glad you and B talked, and I hope the financial thing works out for you guys, but just remember to keep talking about it, don't let it build up. And don't sleep on the floor anymore!! Your too good for the floor.

Well, if you and Ben have the same fight again in a month make him sleep on the floor this time...it'll be his turn :) Hopefully the joint accounts will work out though.
That whole parking job would have annoyed the crap out of me....I have road rage as it is so my tolerance for stupidity is not very high.

It is good you guys could talk it out... and yeah I agree with you about all the happy we get to leave BS when you are still stuck there. Everyone in my company has next week off except for me... haha it's funny screw em I am getting paid while you guys sit at home that's what i say haha

Well it seems like you and Ben are working things out ok, well, at least you guys came to a positive conclusion in the first place! :) A lot of people have trouble with that, good on you both for wanting to work things out. I'm sure you guys don't need any more of a communication breakdown.

I wish you well too with the joint account, just remember you deserve to be happy!
I have things like that happen with parking in my neighborhood, not very many smart drivers out there.
