Nightmares
I have very vivid dreams, and I usually remember most of them nightly.  Ever since I was a child I have always had vivid dreams, and sometimes nightmares.  In college I became interested in interpreting dreams, and still do from time to time when I have a particularly memorable one.

Last night I had, what I would consider, a nightmare.  Isn't it interesting how as you get older, your ideas of what is a nightmare changes?  When I was a kid, a nightmare would consist of monsters, witches, aliens, etc.  Now nightmares are more real world scenarios that are absolutely terrifying.

Last night, I had a few very strange dreams that I remember bits of pieces of, and then a very scary dream.  It was basically like Ben and I had gone on a rampage on this like motorcycle (that flew, which isnt exactly real life but the rest is).  Anyway I think we were shooting people, I don't know why, I just remember feeling angry and scared because we were flying really high and it felt like we were falling.  Anyway it was obvious that we were going to get caught by the police so we stopped by the park where his family was playing.  (Note:  not his real family, they are all grown).  Anyway, in the dream his mom, and little siblings were playing in the park and he stopped to give them a hug and basically say goodbye although they were confused as to why he was doing that.  I remember feeling so hopeless and sad as I watched him hug the young kids.

So then we go to where the police are waiting for us with their guns and we both put our hands up and surrender.  I felt so scared as I've never really been in trouble with the law before except for a few minor alcohol citations when I was a minor.

They cuffed us and I got put into the second of two vans.  I immediately start crying.  I am facing the front and at first I thought they were going to put Ben into the van with me so I felt a little comforted but then I saw that they put him in the first van.  He climbed toward the back so that when we started driving away, he was facing me and I was facing him.  I remember mouthing and crying "Help Me," to him, and he kept mouthing back "I love you, it's okay, I love you."  We were both crying and I was crying so hard I was about to lose it.

The driver of my van was a woman police officer.  She thought she heard me praying, when I was mouthing to Ben, and she said it was customary to stop at a certain chapel for repentance if I wanted too before we went to the jail.  I said yes please, that would be nice.

So we go this really old, huge, scary looking church.  As we are going in there are gargoyle like things, except they are pigs with bird wings, sort of like a raven with a pigs face/color, and they were alive (again this part isnt exactly realistic).  They were very creepy.  Then as we went in, there was a ghastly looking widow all dressed in black with a black veil, crying coming out.

It must have been around Christmas time because there was a large Christmas tree on the alter.  The last thing I remember is falling on my knees, still in cuffs, and looking up and saying "please help me."

I theh woke up, sweating, and my heart was beating crazily.  I reached over and touched Ben and even put my head on his shoulder.  I can't remember the last time I woke up in such a panic.  It was one of those dreams that I even couldn't fall asleep for a while afterwards.

So here I go with my analysis.  The way you analyze dreams is to pick out symbols from the dream that you think could mean something and use either a dream interpretation book or a D.I. website.  Then I try to match up what is going on with my life and how I have been feeling in general, with the analysis of the symbols.

K...

To dream that you shoot a person with a gun, denotes your aggressive feelings and hidden anger toward that particular person.

Alright, well, I don't remember who were shooting at, or even if we actually even shot at people, but I know there was some sort of shooting going on, but I don't remember holding a gun or anything.  This may just mean that I am harboring agressive feelings or hidden anger towards people in general... which does make sense, as I've noticed I've been getting angy with particular groups of people and types of people lately.

Flying
To dream that you are flying, signifies a sense of freedom where you had initially felt restricted and limited.
Flying Machine
To see a flying machine in your dream, foretells of steady satisfactory progress in your future endeavors.

I copied both of these as they are both somewhat true, I was flying, but I was also on some sort of machine or motorbike.  This, I think, may relate to the fact that Ben got that job yesterday and so we both felt like the future was looking much more bright.

Surrender
To dream that you surrender, suggests that you need to rid yourself of past emotions and habits.

Wow.  This is very telling.  I, to say the least, carry around a lot of baggage.  I have been steadily trying to rid of myself of these emotions AND habits, but sometimes have setbacks along the way, especially recently.

Handcuffs
To dream that you are in handcuffs, suggests that something or someone is holding back your success. Opportunities are shut off to you. You are experiencing a loss of power and effectiveness.

This is also pretty interesting when compared to my life.  Lately I felt sort of stuck as far as my career goes.  I actually wrote a big blog about this yesterday come to think about it and then somehow managed to press delete instead of edit, and yep, it was a goner.  I guess I've felt like I don't really have a whole lot of options of opportunities on my horizon because I chose to get a degree in like a certain profession, not really a field, if that makes any sense.  Anyway, I like teaching, but thinking that what I'm doing now is all I'll ever do is somewhat depressing to me.  Also, lately with my student teacher, I definitely feel like I'm losing my craft. :)

Gargoyle
To see a gargoyle in your dream, signifies hidden and embarrassing fears over secretive matters that you have not shared with anyone.

Pig
To see a pig in your dream, symbolizes dirtiness, greediness, stubbornness or selfishness.

I combined these as well as in the dream they were combined.  Well first, I have a few very embarrassing secretive matter that bothers me on a daily basis, but i can't really say that I have been acting too selfish lately, although in my job I feel kind of like selfish because I don't really have to do anything.  And, I'm Irish, I'm stubborn.  lol...

To dream that you are in a church, suggests that you are seeking for some spiritual enlightenment and guidance. You are looking to be uplifted in some way. Perhaps you have made some mistakes in the past which have set you back on your path toward your goals. With proper support, you will get on the right track again. Alternatively, it may also mean that you are questioning and debating your life path and where it is leading. You are reevaluating what you want to do.

Well, as stated before, I definiltey have been questioning my life path, and espeically looking back on the last two years, my life has twisted and turned, and I am wondering what the next twist in the path will be.

Widow
To dream that you are a widow, represents loneliness or sadness. You may be feeling isolated and/or abandoned.

Although I wasn't the actual widow in this dream, it was a very vivid picture and I could describe it to a T even now, so I felt it meant something.  I think as far as how i have been feeling goes, I have been feeling a little alone even with Ben just because of how stressed he's been, and some of the stuff he's said/done in the last few weeks.

Although I have talked mostly all these things out and everything is okay, I think I subconciously harbor some of those feelings that have manifested themselves in my dreams.  Very interesting dream, and I'm glad I looked into it.  Some may think this is total crap, and totally might be, but it always intrigues me.

That was a really interesting dream. I did a speech on dream interpretation once for school. I love trying to figure out their meaning. I had a really vivid dream about tornadoes a couple weeks ago...what was weird was my dad had a dream about tornadoes that same night too. And it wasn't like it was storming or anything that night or we saw one on tv either.
