God damnit... I typed almost this whole entry and then accidentally pushed the back button. GRRR...
Anyway, Melrose Place is increasing our rent by 75 dollars a month starting in July, so we decided to maybe find a new apartment. Like I've stated before, I don't like the feeling of everyone knowing everything about everyone else. Growing up in a small town I always felt like no matter what I did, or where I did it, everyone would know about it. This is how I feel at Melrose Place. It's just uncomfortable for me.
So anyway, we found a 2 BR that we really liked, obviously it is more expensive but I think it might be worth the increase. Our rent at Melrose Place is going up to 1475 including utilities for a small 1 BR... the other place is a large 2 BR from 1550 +utilities. So basically it would be about 125 more a month for another bedroom, and the living room, kitchen and bathroom are also all larger than what we have now.
The thing that sucks is basically I have to use all my savings, plus my extra summer money to be able to afford the deposit and first month's rent and that is with Ben also helping out. But, it'd be the first time in my life that I got the place entirely on my own, not with the help of my parent's money. Anyway, does this seem like a good move or no?
On a different Melrose Place note.... During the winter we had a problem with mice. They would eat my bread and get into my boxes in my cupboard and leave their little nasty poo droppings on my counter. Anyway, as the weather got warmer (not that its ever cold in so-cal but you know) the micies seemed to have moved back outside. Apparently I was wrong by this. I went to make pancakes and saw gnawings on the box... I also was mysteriously missing a hamburger bun and the bag was ripped to shreds. Then while I was laying in bed at 4 AM I heard one running around our bedroom shaking up the floor length blinds. B never wakes up to them but I always do.
Funnily enough, he got out of bed about 5 minutes afterI heard it and went to the bathroom. All of the sudden I see him JUMP and freak out "HOLY SHIT!" He'd stepped on Mickey in teh bathroom!! Needless to say he was NOT happy about this so he to be exterminated. All of this at 4 AM.
I'm not sure how Melrose Place has a mouse problem when there are so many damn cats running around. Oh and we also have had a beehive right outside our bathroom window ever since we moved in. Sigh.

Agreed....go for the new place. Not only because of the mice situation (btw the 4am situation sounded too funny) but because you will get a lot more for only a little over $100 more. However, I am going to miss your stories about all the people at "Melrose Place".
