| I lit myself on fire. |

So as Ben and I were cooking a nice, romantic, Valentine's Day dinner, I lit myself on fire. Really. I was making a port wine reduction, didn't realize it was about to boil over, took the lid off of the saucepan, it boiled over RIGHT into the, that's right, flames from my gas stove. This = me losing some hair and burning my nose. ::sigh:: How romantic....
On Friday night we went to sushi happy hour (my most favorite thing to do in the world). Why? Everything is half price, the food is great, we love saki, and for some reason we always have really good conversation when we are there and I just always feel like we connect in some way there since it is sort of "our" place.
As I've said before, I think, it seems we have sort of been ditched by the people we "considered" our friends here. We used to hang out with this older couple, they were really great, we had a lot of fun, then randomly they stopped calling us. Now, how we met is because they are next door neighbors to Jason, who was dating my friend Erika. Well then everything got crazy because he started trying to end it with Erika and he would be super immature (esp for being 33 years old!) and instead of just ending it he would just hide from her at bars and not answer her calls. Anyway, this made it very awkward for me, as I wanted to hang out with them, and Ben enjoyed hanging out with that crowd. He did not like me hanging out with Erika anyway because she would always tell me to not tell boys that I had a boyfriend because then they wouldn't "like" us, and things like that. So yeah basically once she was single and wanting to just cruise for guys all the time, we didn't have much in common. Aaaaanyway, when our friends stopped calling us, this was right around the time when Jason decided he wanted Erika BACK. So my theory is that Jason asked them to stop hanging out with us (and she would listen to him) because it might hurt his chances with Erika, when in REALITY, had he just asked ME to help him get Erika back, he would have definitely gotten her back. But he is not smart enough to figure that out.
SO anyway, while we were at sushi, a couple of the guys that he runs around with show up and Ben says hey and asks them how they are etc, and I just feel so bad like it is my fault that he doesn't have many friends to hang out with. I could see in his eyes that he was kind of jealous of their friendship almost. I hope he doesn't get sick of just hanging out with me. We did join a softball team which starts in March so I hope we are able to meet more people then...
