So i just got back together with the man who was my ex but now we're back together. And i know he's the one and i can't wait to spend forever with him... but... don't want to push the issue to hard.

How did you get proposed to by your significant other?
Did it come naturally OR Did you help the magical question along??

Every time I have gotten married it has been one of those ugly little courthouse weddings. It seemed like the question was never asked, we just decided it was a good choice and showed up to fill out the license and do it. I suggest that if you have particular plans about it and how you would like it to unfold that you begin to give some subtle hints, or maybe let them see some pictures of wedding stuff "by accident" and ask romantic questions like " If we were going to get married, what song would you like to have our first dance to?"

I was honest w/my husband while dating. He knew from the start that I was done w/ the dating scene and was ready to settle down. No secrets! I say, be open and up front. If he has cold feet and hits the road, good riddens! Because he was not ready for a commitment. My brother's ex-wife dropped hints, talked to his friends and us, his family, took him to jewelry stores and so on... she did EVERYTHING but sit down and talk to him about the next step. He finally felt the pressure, proposed and as I said before, she is now 'The Ex'. I believe that he would've been ready in a few years, but she never gave him a chance to share his fears, he hopes, dreams and plans for the future. I know he's a grown man but I believe that men need to be walked through some things. PLUS, men aren't always the best at picking up on hints, so you might be waiting a long time. Be upfront and honest. I'm not saying give ultimatums! Just be honest, let him know exactly what you want. He may want the same thing!
