 December 25!! Merry Christmas!

~*~ Merry Christmas ~*~

There's something about opening gifts on Christmas morning...but more so, seeing the gift recipients open them, that really makes me happy :) It's really cute when you have to explain a gift to someone. All of us (brothers, dad, and me) got mom tinted windown for her car. I put her car with no tint (B-O-R-I-N-G) on one side of a card and a car with tinted windows (verrry cool) on the other side with glitter glue lining the windows....she gave us all a puzzled look and kept saying "but i have this car"...Oh mom! It was too darn cute AND! it's all on video. Awww Christmas memories :)
Christmas fun has just begun...after belgian waffles and even more candy and cookies, we all will load into the car and head off to Grandma's house. ...which really is over the river and thru the woods! : D
Mmmm...my waffle is supurb!
I hope all of you are enjoying your Christmas to the fullest! :) :) :) :)

P.S. Some Sweet Christmas Memories::
"My best holiday memory so far would have to be last year. We welcomed our sweet girl into the world on Christmas Eve. Even though we spent Christmas in the hospital it was the best time. My mom made Christmas dinner and brought it to the hospital, along with all the presents for the whole family. It couldn't have been a more special time, to have my newborn baby and close family there to celebrate." Author: ??

"My favorite holiday memory was when my sister and I were younger, my step-father used to get up at 5am, make coffee, and play Christmas music. We would wake up and he would pour a cup for us - with lots of cream. That was our special treat every year. It was nice, he was always so stern, so it was nice to sit with him and see a softer side.

I tried to start the tradition with my children, but my oldest started bouncing off the walls, so it was quickly ended!" Author: ??

Best For Last!...
"My parents never had a fancy tree-topper. They spent their first Christmas together stationed on a military base in Germany with no money for fancy things. So my father made ornaments for their little tree out of office supplies--paper trees decorated with gummed foil stars, red construction paper hearts, and to top it all off, a cardboard star covered in tin foil and held onto the tree with a gem clip.

Mom saved those decorations, and every year after, no matter how many pretty glass baubles and spangled ornaments they collected, the tree managed to snag a few of those home-made pieces. The tin foil star always made it to the top. It lasted for several years before we began adding new layers of aluminum, trying to hold it together season after season.

Fast forward to Christmas of last year. After graduating college and suffering a few more roommates, I finally had a place of my own. My fiancé (then my boyfriend) helped me find a tree and some ornaments to trim my apartment, even though I would be at my parents' house Christmas day. As we tossed around little bits of red and gold ribbon, he glanced at the tree, and said "Hey--something is missing."

Going into the kitchen, he rummaged around, then appeared with the necessary parts: cardboard, scissors, tin foil, and a gem clip. Hearing the story of my parents' first Christmas many weeks before, he'd saved some bits and pieces so my tree would have a tin star of its own. Now it is our star, and our tree, and our story, too." -- posted by Miss Z
