The pressure is on! Everyone is hustling and busy-a-ling about. People have their arms overloaded with gifts. Their purses and wallets are thinner than ever. ...AND attitudes and stress levels are high! It makes me sick...
Christmas is not about how much money we can spend or about getting everything on someone's list, it's about Christ. HENCE: CHRISTmas. It's very sad how industrialized Christmas has become and how kids think Santa is the reason for the season :( :(
Yes, i do want to give great gifts and see the recipients smile and be 'merry' but all my time and money are not put into the gifts. Most important on my list: family and friends. It's hard to clarify the subject without getting up on my soap box. But you get my point right? ::
Ah! But the whole Happy Holidays thing. That really burns my candle at both ends... I have noticed the 50/50 reaction i get when i send the many customers off to have a great day and a "Merry Christmas". 50% say it back with a smile and gusto. AND...the other 50% turn on their heels *ears back* (sometimes grunt a 'happy holidays' ) and make their get away.
Since when did "Merry Christmas" turn into an insult, of sorts?
The season is still going strong and my Christmas spirit is alive and well...Plus, i only have 4 days to keep it up. Despite the crowd who try to stomp out my merry-'mint' i keep on smiling and wishing everyone a 'Verrry Merry Christmas'...I can do it!
So ... Merry Christms!!!!
