It's the Day After Christmas...aka: the shopping day! Is it bigger than Black Friday? I have to work in less than three hours and i'm cowaring at the idea of angry shopping who want to return, return return (because we do not accept returns...) I'm expecting to have mean words tossed my way and frustration clouding the store up...ah!
Down to Busines:: What is Boxing Day?
well, according to Wikipedia >>> Boxing Day is a traditional celebration, dating back to the Middle Ages, and consisted of the practice of giving out gifts to employees, the poor, or to people in a lower social class.
But couldn't Boxing Day be taking in a different context??
You know, people go shopping they go to exchange their item they got yesterday and there's only one left, but two people who both want it = 'boxing' match. Can't it work that way?
Think about it...all those dihard shoppers who got up today and are out and about seaching, like vultures, for the best sales and to exchange the hell-o out of their gifts for items they had their hearts set on instead of the around the world beer set or as seen on tv phenonens, they actually got.
I guess we can all have our own take on the day after Christmas and call it what we want...
How about Grinch-like, Sleepwalking shopping Extravagana!!
OTHER THOUGHTS...
** in england canada and ect. its the holiday after christmas whereyou take down your decorations find uses 4 all the boxes left over from christmas thus "box"ing day and you eat leftovers
** Boxing day is to open up all the presents under the Xmas tree..I think!
** In Australia we normaly relax having a family BBQ and a drink. We also go and hit the shops with our big Boxing day Sales.
** Ya I have never heard of it. Maybe it'll be something America will take on and turn into another day of shopping and spending and partying. |

Boxing Day is Hockey Day in Canada. These days the decorations generally stay up until after New Years or when ever you get around to taking them down.
