So the night before I was supposed to go to the Genbukan for the first time I went to karaoke with my host bther and a bunch of friends. We were out until around 5:30 in the morning, so when we got back I crashed and didn;t wake up until like eleven. I thought, you know, "That's okay. The practice does not start until 9 tonight."

Wrong. The practice was at 9 AM. So I missed it. The next one is next Sunday at the same time, so I will not miss it then.

They only practice once a week, it seems, and their membership fee is a little high... I have decided that if I do not like their stuff after a few tries I will not join their dojo. It is a hard decision, but for one lesson a week their prices are a little steep.

On the other hand, there are clubs at my college. Sensei would know best which one would benefit me, so I'mma list a few of them here.

1. Karate Club. They do not say which style of karate, but they say that it is the "real Karate spirit, with traditional martial art training."

2. Outouryu Karate-do Club. This one looks more promising. They say that the Okinawan art of Outouryu Karate is taught at their club once a week.

3. Aiki-Kiai club. Maybe it's aikido? They call it the "modern Japanese Martial art."

4. Shorinji Kenpo Club. I'm leaning toward this one; however, they say that it's an art "special to Japan."

5. Judo Club. They say they will train beginners all the way to black belt in one school year. I do not believe them.

6. Syu-ku-kai. Maybe it's shotokan? They say they teach "Syotokukan" style karate and that their teacher was once the world Karate champion.

7. The Catholic Student's Organization. A good place to practice breaking stuff? Joking, joking...

Anyway those are the ones that look any type of good. I'm going to look into all of them and see what they are up to before I even think about thinking about making a decision.
