| About Me |
My name is Elaine, I am married, have two lovely daughters, and a wonderful step-daughter and step-son. My husband and I have been married for 10 years. Currently only my youngest daughter lives at home.
Three years ago my parents moved to Tallahassee from Delray Beach to be closer to me in case something happened, they were 80 and 83 at the time. Two months after moving here, my dad had a heart attack and died, mom moved in with us that night, mom has Lewy Body Disease, a form of Dementia. This is where my story begins. |

Please tell me this isn't real??? I am crying my heart out for you both!!!! My mother has dementia and everything you write is what I live through with her. She has lived with me for 3 years and to see the independent fun loving beautiful wonderful mother I knew, living like this, it breaks my heart, as yours is broken with your wife. (posted in

Hello, my mother has Lewy Body Dementia and has lived with my family for the past 3 years. The decline is slow, but definitely heart-breaking to watch. I have two sitters that just started with me two weeks ago, one is here 3 days a week for 4 hours, the other is here 2 nights a week from 11-7. They are both so sweet to my mom and I know they truly are doing a "job" that they love doing. I feel really blessed to have them with us, as I'm sure your patients feel about you. (posted in

Mom has a form of Dementia called Lewy Body Disease. It's all described in one of my earlier blogs. She's fairly normal one day, then can wake up and think she's a werewolf or in the Civil War. Very very strange. (posted in
