Small steps on the road to enlightenment
Well like most intelectuals i have been perplexed with the meaning of life. Like so many new age idealist I turned to the wisdom of the east. I have been experimenting with the notion of consciousness and I think I have stumbled upon an elementary form of enlightenment. From what I have tasted, enlightenment is nothing more than a free stream of consciousness without the concrete foundation of ego to rationalize or try to control the current reality. Everything in life just is and there is no longer the need to try to grasp anything, the cosmos simply just dances itself around you like some beautiful parade of poetic confusion. This state of mind is a duality of experience, one part liberating and one part utterly terrifying. I guess you could say when one reaches this level of awarness the former barriers of perception no longer have such an oppressive filter on the mind. I am a mere novice when it comes to the control of cognitive thought processing and the manipulation of perspective to the given stimulus but i found it somewhat fun, almost like an experiment with the boundaries of reality and flitering with the possibilities. I also think somehow through the art of free association the self can unlock itself from the burdens of neurosis in a warm fountain of catharsis. When the deep tension is released from the reseviors of reservation a new truth is found......... I hate to sound so cliche but the truth shall set you free!.......... why i think like this? Well it has something to do with partaking in rain dance in the deserts of arizona and climbing a cliff face in south africa and almost dying.
well anyways I wrote this piece about my experiences with the nectars of nirvana on the hills of a utah city.
