I agree. Apathy has led us to this; but, also our willingness to be comfortable in this apathy. Things only change when there is great hardship. As crazy as it seems, the hardships now are manageable or can be "written" off as life - some make it some don't. The upper 2% dictate their comfort now and to ensure greatness for their offspring.
We need unions! The middle class, the comfort, the companionable country was created by unions. We have got to make them strong again. No more red tape at the behest of those in charge. Ignore the red tape and demand NOW what and how to change. Unions, representing 98% of the people, are the populace power.
Schools are Prussian models for obedience - they have taught us well. No one knows how to stand up anymore. And we are afraid anymore because no one is united in a general front against this use / abuse.
We need a leader or leaders that reveal the true popular vote, not the financially capable vote or the electoral PAID OFF vote or the rigged machine vote.
It's going to take several UNITED generations to turn this around, not one sole generation. (posted in

Sounds like a down phase of life. Feeling insecure about your goals, your path, your needs, wants and dreams.
What makes you happy? Making a plan and working towards it makes one feel better. Or experiencing something wonderfully new. People respond to charismatic, read confidence, in others. Those who don't personify confidence have a harder time feeling comfortable with others. Most people are not confident. Late 20's one wonders what there is next, you want to accomplish something. It's just that phase of life.
It's OK to feel like you do, just know who you are - your thoughts, your feelings, how you react to news, how you react to sounds, smells, sights... Knowing these things will help you feel confident with who you are.
I know in the United States there is a suicide hotline you can call if you're feeling dangerously insecure or depressed. How about in Australia? They'll talk to you, they'll listen to you. Most importantly they can guide you if you want. I am not a psychologist - these are just feelings.
Your actions sound like you're in a depression. Talking to other people or telling other people helps. Writing helps, too. (posted in

One always has hope, doesn't she? Sigh, I know what you're saying. Like you know it could be a good friendship IF. And so you keep trying. (posted in
