Ok, first things first. I'm Summerdawn and claim responsibility for being the most confusing member of the Grim Legion when I'm not irritating people by writing a blog about why I'm confusing.
Why am I confusing you ask? Because I'm a Paladin. That in and of itself is not confusing. What's confusing is that I'm a Healadin. I.E. A Holy Specialized, Healing Paladin. For those of you not in the know, the other spec for Holy is a Shockadin.
First things first, my build. I'm 41/20/0.** 41 points in Holy, 20 in Prot, none in Retribution. You'll notice if you look at my armory page that I do not have the penultimate skill in the Holy Tree which is Divine lllumination. I find it to be a useless skill with no real use because, to be honest, I don't run out of Mana. The only time I may use it is if I run dangerously low on Mana, and I shouldn't. Ever. Plus, if I do, that's what a potion is for.
So, I can fill three roles effectively with my build. And I know I can because I've done all three in different areas.
And I will examine all three areas independantly. Aswell as other things like, god help me, Theorycraft. I hate numbers. But this is going to be the Bible of Holy Pallys. That said, I'll edit it as I learn more or find better ways of doing things.
So the three roles I can fill (depending on gear)
1: Healing. (Duh)
2: Spell DPS (needs +spell dam gear)
3: Off-Tank. I know, it sounds odd, but I can keep threat (stam and int gear)
So, I hope you enjoy this rundown. Grimmies, thanks for your patience and willingness to learn about the class that I and Xores enjoy playing.
**Edit: My build is now 42/19/0 I went back to Divine Illumination, as explained in the newest post on the site for skills.
