Ponderings on Pally Enchants
I've been reading over the blog of someone I respect a great deal lately. This gentleman's name is, at least to those of us on WoW, Skindancer. You can see Skin's blog here, for reference. As you can see, he's been digging into the Healadin/Shockadin dirt the last few days in an attempt to understand my character and my playstyle.

Understand that the Grim Legion is seldom faced with anything that at least Skindancer, Sistajuju, Windhunter and Apakaga do not understand to the fullest extent of the game, including theorycraft, which they can then explain to neanderthals like me. So I take a certain ammount of pride in watching them wonder what to do with me. That said, I feel the same way, which is why I made this blog. "Where do I fit in?"

Now, as you can see, Skin is, today, focusing on gear. And, more to the point, he's focusing on enchants as well. And, for the most part I agree with him. Generally I agree with him, because he knows more than I do, so I default to his opinion and what he tells me to do raid wise.

It was he and his wife, Sista, that really got me going hardcore after enchants. And Apakaga's suggestions that helped me out.  I'm only missing the head glyph from Thrallmar, so hopefuly I'll nab that this week. But, the point where I differ from Skin on the enchants is only one place, and it's not really that important, it's more personal preference and playstyle.

As is seen, he has chosen to put the Enchant Gloves-Major Healing on his gloves. Which gives you a total of 35 extra healing points. Which is important, I agree. This gives you a total bonus to your healing of 25.55 extra healing to Holy Light and 14.35 extra healing to your Flash of Light.

In the grand scheme of your healing, I don't think that's very much. I opted for Enchant Gloves- Blasting over that for a few reasons.

Number one: Blasting gives you 10 Spell Critical Strike rating which translates into, roughly, 0.5% of a critical strike chance. Now, that doesn't sound like a lot, but when you factor in that, at 70, a Paladin's critical strike % should be anywhere from 18-20%, that adds up quite a bit. This is especially, in my opinion, important for Shockadins because the Healing Enchant gives out less damage than it does healing, and Paladins only have one instacast spell that works on all targets, not including Seals. And that is Holy Shock, hence the name of the class.

Numer Two: The mats are insanely cheaper. Enchant Gloves - Blating requires the following mats: 1 Lessar Planar Essence and 4 Arcane Dust, as well as, of course, a Truesilver rod.

The mats for Enchant Gloves - Major Healing has the following mats: 6 Large Prismatic Shards, 6 Greater Planar Essences, and 6 Primal Life. All of which are considered end-game mats and are certainly more expensive that the mats for my enchants.

THAT SAID! There is nothing wrong with this choice. You see, to get the same ammount at Kara level into healing that a priest has, a Paladin needs somewhere close to 1800 bonus healing, according to the illustris Xores. (Who I trust and believe) so every little bit helps.

So, all in all, I agree with Skindancer, and this enchant is, really, a moot point. My play style depends on Crit Healing, his play style is going to be different from mine as mine is different from Xores (the other healadin in our guild, built for PvPing.)

Now, on my boots, the enchat I recommend is Vitality, because it increases your HP5 and your MP5. Which is always nice, but, close to un-needed for a Paladin in a raid situation. I know of a paladin who has movement speed on his boots, but...I think that's more for flavor.
