Ok, so, I was pondering my build last night, based on what I do these days. Mostly, I raid, farm Primal Mana and Life, and I farm herbs for potions. Dear God do I love my potions. And I decided that going with Redoubt and Shield Specialization was a null and void topic these days. I never off-tank and I farm with The Oathkeeper on a daily basis because I find it chews through the mobs faster than my Kiru's Presage and I don't have to depend so much on Mana to do it.
So I was in the Undercity and made my way to the Royal Qurter, payed my 30g and undid my talents and rebuilt myself. Going with Toughness etc. and having some points left over from my previous build. I then respec'd to this current build. Good grief what a stupid mistake. I'll admit it. It's not often I make a mistake when it comes to my build because...I change it or adjust it every 3 months or so in very small ammounts.
As you can see I took toughness, which I now love. My armor has gone to over 16000. However, I still have 4 points in Redoubt. Which is...useless given I don't grind with a shield anymore. Also, Skindancer has had an idea what involves me being in melee range to heal. Now I need to spend an additional 50g to repsec to look like this.
This build looks very strange indeed. Especially with the two lonely points in Anticipation, which is generally accepted to be a Tankadin skill. Now, I did this because I don't use a shield when grinding. Only when healing. This makes Redoubt useless because I'm not going to be the one being attacked by physical damage. Only the tank is unless I'm stupid.
However, I will have to contend with fears, disorients and AOE attacks. That is where the two points in Unyielding Faith and Anticipation come in. Anticipation, couple with Toughness give Summerdawn the boost to defense that she needs being that close to harm (She's normally 40 yards away) and fear affects that I need. I'll say this, it's a bloody strange design, and it better be worth 50g of my Epic Mount fund. If not, I'm gonna shove my Oathkeeper up Morogrim Tidewalker's fat arse.
Another possibility for the same build (though less useful in my opinion.) is this one. I took Blessed Life here because I have a 10% chance to take half damage from all sources. That's great, especially since I'm crushable. Buuut, I lose out on my Healing Leader (read: Sistajuju's) favorite skill. Improved Concentration Aura. This is great, especially in the Leotheras fight of SSC. Any healer has skills that reduce interrupts by 70%. Couple that with my improved Concentration Aura and you have an additional 50% chance to resist interrupts. That gives most healers a grand total of 120%, if you can't do the math. Which we'll examine in the next post.
Healadins even more, because of spiritual focus. (With Imp. Concentration Aura Summerdawn gets 120% chance to resist. Should that mean getting hit makes my spells cast faster?). Priests get the same benefit from Healing Focus, a Tier 1 talent with 2 points. Shaman get Healing Focus (Tier 3) for the same ammount and lastly Druids get the same thing again at Tier 2 this time. So, healers love the Improved Concentration Aura. Casters do too.
