teaching to the test or teaching how to test? on 2007-11-29 14:38:48 |

I also think both ways of teaching are vital to the students performance on a test. They need to know how to take the test as well as the content that the test is based on.

Have we really evolved? on 2007-11-26 22:05:59 |

Wow! Someone who's not afraid to speak about what they believe in.
Unfortunately, there is a line between right and wrong and there is only one truth that I believe in and that is the Bible. I'm not doing so well in my spiritual life, but I believe in what the Bible says. If I wanted to make it suit my needs then I'd forget the part about me going to Hell for being an immoral person. But I believe all of it and that is why I'm trying to get help from my Christian friends so I don't have to go to Hell.
I would encourage you to talk to some Christians and see what living as a Christian is really like. Or you could also read the Bible.
Have a nice day.

Wow! Lon Chaney sounds like another notable b-movie actor. I've seen his name listed on some old movies in this movie guide I own.
You mentioned Irwin Allen. I found out recently that he's the guy who did some cool b-grade television shows like Land of the Giants and Time Tunnel. I enjoyed watching episodes of Land of the Giants back in my home country on this cable channel. I've only seen one episode of time tunnel, and I approved of it.
Very freaky history about the deaths of Lon Chaney and his father. Sounds like the story for an old b-movie.
Great review, CdR.

I've heard a lot about these 'The Ring' films. A lot of people say these films are good, but I'm not too excited about modern horror films. I still need to watch more of the oldies.
I find it amazing how 'The Ring' was actually an Americanized version of a Japanese film. Wow!
But it's not so surprising because I heard that 'The Magnificent Seven' was also inspired by a Japanese film titled 'Seven Samurai.'
I guess we're all related. hahahaha :)
Good review, CdR.

I know this is going to hurt you, Jasmine16, but I'm going to say it anyway as one person to another. I'm not making enemies here. This is my opinion.
I don't think it's right that you're a lesbian. You'll be scaring a lot of straight girls away, especially if they already know you're a lesbian. Some think being a homosexual is contagious.
Being single is not a bad thing. It depends on your perspective. Right now you find it painful to be single. But it can also be painful and annoying when you get involved in a relationship. You'll wish you never had one. It will be like a stain that never gets washed off.
If you've read my blog, you'll know that I'm not an expert on this, but I'm talking from experience in rejection.
Email me if you want to talk about these issues more. Have a nice day, Jasmine16.

Depression on 2007-11-14 05:51:43 |
|
You might not know this, but I believe that we all have a purpose.
People have called me a blessing and I think God planned for me to help them out.
I have friends who value my friendship. I don't think I make friends randomly. God planned that I would be their friend.
I believe it's the same for you. You have a purpose. Don't just end it here. Someone out there in the world needs you. I don't know who, but if you wait around and see, you'll find out.
Pray to God and ask Him for help, even if you've never prayed to Him before.
I advise you to seek a counselor and a doctor. I have experienced depression and I'm taking anti-depressants that help remove suicidal thoughts from my thinking.
Medication is not everything and neither is counseling. They both work well TOGETHER.
So find a counselor and a doctor. Talk to a friend about it and they might help you do this too.
Thanks for listening to a weirdo like me.

Part 3 is another winner for me.
I relished the first paragraph.
These some strands of the story that I thought were just awesome:
[I looked at the floor observing who I killed, turned out to be a guy from data processing, Henry. I smiled in relief, I didn't like that guy much.]
[My fist's, my leg's, my body was everywhere, hitting, kicking, snapping, killing.]
[" I need to go do something, you can stay here, leave, or come with me."

Very informative again.
Yes I've heard of the TV writers strike. I don't understand why they should be acting up like this. I think they just want more money. But that's just my opinion.
I've heard that Plan 9 From Outer Space is said to be the worst movie ever. This makes me want to see it of course.
Even though I find b-movies interesting, I also have a short attention span for them and I'm happy that most of them are short. The shortness of b-movies is another factor that attracts me. I'm not too crazy about long films unless they're really super great.
Awesome entry, CavedogRob. Have a nice day.

Wow! This is intense! Continuing romance of Vlad and Kaya. Walking through a dwarven city and buying a special necklace for Kaya. Entering the big magnificent castle. Wonderful imagery, MAK.
Sorry about your hand. I hope it gets well soon. I say let it heal and then continue your story. Don't stress over it. Have fun (I'm always saying that).

God is real and the Devil does exist. The fact that you and I can blog means that we are luckier than a lot of other people around the world today that are starving. They're not worried about what to blog. Good things do happen to everyone. Even those unlucky folks. God blesses both the celebrity and the no-bodies like you (if you consider yourself a nobody. Don't let me label you) and me. Temptation happens to everyone. Jesus himself was tempted but overcame and this means that so can we even though we make a lot of mistakes in our lives. Have a nice day, montaigne.

I'm a Christian and have made comments of disagreement on my Wiccan blog friends entries. That's because we both have different beliefs.

People have their own preferences when choosing their girl/boy friends.
For example: I'm a black Pacific Islander who likes white women. I think it's their skin color and hair that attracts me.
There are other details that make me attracted to white women but this is just a brief example.
I don't think you're weird. I know I am.

HELLO on 2007-11-01 11:02:43 |
|
I guess you could introduce yourself with information that lets other bloggers know what kind of a person they are talking to.
For example, if you visit my blog, you'll see that I warn others that I'm a weird person. So when they read my blog, they know they're going to be reading weird stuff.
Don't give sensitive information that could be used against you.
Remember: anyone with access to internet services can read your blog.
I've already put down some sensitive thoughts and I'm afraid my friends will read it. My fault. Don't make the same mistake.
After introducing yourself, just put down your thoughts. Sometimes people will leave comments when they visit your blog or sometimes they won't even visit your blog.
Sometimes you'll have people who disagree with you and other times, you'll have people that support you in your thinking.
Like they say: People are different. I'm the worst one cause I'm very weird.
But don't worry about that. This is a place to put down your thoughts and that is the important thing.
Have a nice day. God bless.
