| Soul Searching |
I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to do some contemplating and praying about God's will on some ministry opportunities in the community. Currently I am pianist at a Missionary Baptist church out in the country in the sweetlips area. I am seeing God do some awesome things there. In fact three Sunday's ago the minister out there was preaching and then had a spell where he stopped talking and got all white and was not responding. We prayed for him and he was able to talk to us and move around again. The doctor later diagnoised him with a heart problem and stated that his heart had stopped beating. (in my opinion when your heart stops beating you are dead)... this was a miracle that we won't soon forget. Also, this church is very missions oriented and doing a lot to help those in KY and also in our local communities.
I also am a sign language interpreter for a deaf man, and I take him to a Pentecostal church in Jackson on Sunday evenings. If it wasn't for me going and picking up for services he would never get to go. So I thank God for that opportunity.
I sing and play hymns and gospel songs at nursing home, senior center and assisted living facities 4 times a month and teach music lessons in my home and at a church school. So I am very active and surrounded in ministries. I also visit the elderly in my neighborhood as much as possible. This new opportunity would cause me to have to stop talking the deaf man to Jackson to church servces, and possibly cease being pianist at the missionary Baptist church. So after reflecting on this, I have come to the conclusion that I need to continue in the well-doing that I am involved in and not this other endeavor. I really feel that God is with me in this decision.
