Yes. Going on 38 years. And, after a major heart attack that blew off a right coronary artery, an auto accident, two bouts with 2 different cancers. This is REAL love and I wouldn't trade it for anything. We do everything together and I don't even miss what was once a part of our lives. Everytime I had major surgery, when I opened my eyes, my husband was there for me and I for him. And, I know he will be there for me at the end, and ever after. Just give it a try, you may be surprised if you concentrate on having fun, listening to your favorite songs, watching great movies, going on day trips, etc. just how great love and marriage can really be! This is exactly why I stay out of church! Religion is a personal thing. It is a personal belief that is between you and God. We are individuals and what is correct for one is not necessarily correct for another. After all, we are born with a free will. It just amazes me that those who are so involved in the bible to a point where it has become a "passion" rarely read any other works, or expose themselves to other points of view with an open mind. The first "commandment" of mankind is to respect others. In order to do this, you my read - especially history. I have had to work with and manage all types of people with all religious beliefs. I have attended their services with respect and dignity and I have found that no matter what religious event I attend, I take away something good. My personal religious philosophy is simple: Follow the 10 Commandments, say please and thank you, most of all respect others. Listen to what they say, try it once, and you will be a better person with a true understanding of that human being. (posted in Feuding Faiths)
