Why is it that whenever we deviate from the norm , its questionable by many?. I am still suprised at the many comments i receive daily from friends regarding my new daily blog. Some folks went as far as to ask. Chet, is everything alright at home?, Is there someone new in your life? Are you connecting with your spiritual side?,Is there something you think you want to talk about? Are you sick? Wow! it was that serious, beleive me!
To satisfy all curiosities or those who are genuinely concerned, I just want to say. I am in the best of health and everything is alright at home and though sometimes I wish for that significant other, my search is still not over, so since thats the case. Folks, let me just explain my reason for these daily blogs.
I have always been known and accused of keeping things inside. but recently it occured to me that If I keep things locked away, then no-one will ever get to see you for what you are worth especially my friends who i hold so dearly. So to all those who saw the positive in what i am doing, i want to say thanks, and the negative ones would soon realise what the others have seen.
Its all about change for me, nothing more. Someday we have to realise that the routine life we are living does not lend favourably to our development. From work to home and home to work, that trend needs to be punctuated with things that we enjoy or derive benefits from and writing from my heart tends to be my joy, and for some who have read my last e-mail would probably echo my sentiments of contentment immediately.
Change feels good, thought some might argue that they are happy in this mode or quite comfortable, but how do we know until we make that radical step to change something routine that adds no value to our lives. Certainly we run out and buy new clothes to attend the office party or function cause we think its in order, but what about our lives.
Change generally is harder as we age because we become more comfortable and familiar in our lives. And what is our life if not the sum of our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings, all of which we’ve learned and incorporated into ourself over our lifetime? So I don’t think it’s more difficult for older people to change their routines — I think it’s fairly difficult for people at all ages to change their routines but not impossible.
We all simply get comfortable and set in our ways because those ways are familiar to us. To change that, to ask people to give up the familiar for the unfamiliar, well, for most people that’s scary and difficult. Humans avoid fear and fearful situations and that’s why most people don’t like change (and don’t do a very good job with change when confronted with it in their lives).
I am pretty sure you are scratching your head and wondering what do i change, or what little change i can make to my routine life. Well , the simplest routines to change are the smallest ones that mean the least to you. For some, it might be doing the gardening or committing to going for a walk at least 3 times a week (versus no times a week). For others, it may be to read at least two news articles in the newspaper or online all the way through.
The real key to changing routines isn’t to swap out existing routines for new ones you’ll never change, but rather to challenge oneself each and every day — or at least once a week — with something a little different or new.
So, I've decided to write this blog everyday and I must say it gives me tremendous joy in doing so, but what would i have been doing if not this, NOTHING. So change is quite painless. Again, let me encourage you to change something for the better today, and you'd be a better person for it.
I welcome any comments you might have, afterall, I am no trained specialist but just a voice with a soul under construction .
Gotta get this kid off to school , so do have a good day until i write to you tommorrow.
Much Love
Chet*

Chet, again thanks for a great post. We all need to learn and understand that change is a neccessary part of life if we are to grow. There are four seasons in the year and God gave them to teach us how to change and reproduce the growth that our souls require in order that we may prosper and produce the fruit that is worthy of God's blessings.
Thanks for sharing your prospective with all of us.
Much love,
Davis

Congratulations on your decision to change. Some close to you may not understand because it is a big jump from keeping things inside all the time to publishing globally!! Keep writing, you may empower us to change too.
