Body image is something everyone usually deals with on a daily basis! Some
people surround their lives around having the perfect body and exercising,
while others let their addictions to food take them to an unhealthy state
(or because of health reasons!) Whatever the case maybe, this is a topic
that wont go away anytime soon for any of us!
So anyways @ work, all of us girls begin talking about none other, "our
bodies" and trying to shed the pounds! And Oh-Boy' did the conversation
get rough! (lol) I'm not even going to take it there; this will be longer
then my (Unknown Racism) blog! AHHHH...
In the real world: Being tall, blonde and skinny is what’s in style.
Everyone seems to be obsessed with becoming this "so-called American
woman." It sucks, because so many young girls feel the pressure of
becoming a skinny (sexy) girl that can totally fit into a size zero. Shit,
sometimes I see myself feel the ongoing pressure too!
Excuse me? Can someone get this girl a piece of lettuce? - She's starving!!!
I find myself wrapped up in a situation that sometimes gets way out of
hand. I have friends from all backgrounds and all of us girls know how
much of a threat this body image subject can be.
My friend Aliece is a beautiful black woman. She's a shorty like me, but
has gorgeous curves and a booty.
I have another friend Rachel (white) who's skinny, 5'7 and in total shape.
Both of my friends are beautiful girls and I love um' to death! But all of
us go through periods of time, we're we talk about body image and the
difference of "BEAUTY" in different cultures!!! If you’re white you gotta
be skinny with big boobs and if you’re black having a booty with a small
waist is the craze. I find myself in the middle of those two!
I'm 5'5, light skinned, brown hair, hazel eyes, small waist (Need to do
more crunches - lol) middle size hips and a I got junk in my trunk.... But
after going home, sitting back and getting away from the world. I realize
I'm perfect the way God made me, even if I don’t stand up to code right
with the rest of the world!
But sometimes, you will still find me asking;
Do I look fat??? (lol)

If someone says that they are 100% happy with their body i run a mile away in the opposite direction "FAST" , lol! . No one is perfect and too strive for perfection i.m.o. is a dangerous thing all we can do is try to be happy with what we have got and try to be the best we know how , but not perfect as therin lies saddness . If your world does not accept you for who you are , then find one that does! . Nice post .

I so agree with you. Your attitude is so admirable!!
But it seems that lately pop culture is leaning more towards curvy lasses than thin ones, as a lot of curvy lasses are getting looked at in a much more positive light because people are realising how unhealthy these crap "beauty standards" are. Even in white lasses people are still putting curves in general in a positive light.
I myself am 5"11, very pale, blonde and curvy. Small waist, wider hips and like you I got junk in my trunk, although not as much as some. I'm very happy with my self image and not everyone is always going to live up to whatever beauty hype is in style, wether it's curvy or thin, I guess in the end you just gotta love what you got.

i think no girl should worry how they look, so what if others have better bodies, every body has some thing different then the person standing beside them thats how god made us DIFFERENT if he wanted us to all look the same act the same and do every thing the same he would of done it.
there should not be a american girl the girls should just be them selfs

Every female out there should read this blog!! I think everyone has these same thoughts and need to voice opinions about them more often in more places. Society gives us an aweful outlook at what WE are suppose to be or should be. SCREW THEM....ALL OF THEM!! lol
Like you, I also have many friends of many different backgrounds. Tall, short, fat, skinny or whatever they are all beautifull and have no reason to think anything less of themselves.
Whenever I can, I get out of the shower stand in front of my full length mirror and tell myself just how sexy I am...lol!!
A 5 star rating in my book!
