So what is it about being drunk/high that feels so damn good? how can the troubles of the world just disappear? how do enemies seem like friends? and why does that friend seem like something more? substances do substances do. but you are still you!
do we hide from our own thoughts then? its understandable how and why we put up that mask for the world. but when we introspect, do we see ourselves or do we see another clever translucent mask? do we allow ourselves to only see what we want to see and cover the rest of the story up?
acceptance. why is there a need to accept ourselves? i mean, you are YOU! why drag out accepting something you already know? do we think that just by acting juvenile and arrogant against FACT will make the WORLD yield to our whims and fancies?
whatever it is, i like myself when i'm drunk. not because i enjoy music more and want to sing and air guitar to the end of glory. not because talking to people seems more interesting and amusing. but because when i think, when i introspect, i chuck that damn mask! there's no way i can lie to myself. the good news makes me smile and the bad news saddens me. but everything is REAL. i'm not feeling augmented feelings. i'm feeling me. i'm not feeling what i WANT to. i'm feeling what i HAVE to. isn't real life then the delusion? isn't sobriety then the greatest substance that fucks with your head?
not to justify constantly consuming alcohol or lighting up a couple of doobies. that would be insanity! not to mention the flood of medical and psychological problems that'll follow.
but what is so WRONG about being drunk? why is it believed that you are not yourself when you're drunk? is the idea of 'YOU' supposed to include the lies you consciously and/or subconsciously cover yourself with? then isn't everyone a hypocrite? what justifies anything then? who decides where to thicken that blurry line between the lie and the truth? you? well who put you in charge? you can't control the world! you can't even control yourself! and you're constantly beating yourself back!! delusions....... more delusions..... ALWAYS delusions!
not even trying to attack you, anyone who is reading this. not my purpose. not my purpose or place to judge you. ignore the rant. i'm probably talking to myself. just thinking out loud. i dont know. what do you think? (this time the question is directed not to me, but YOU, the person still patient enough to be reading this!) :D

I have asked myself those questions so many times, in relation to alchohol. Being and alcoholic and the whole quitting/not quitting thing. I can't figure anything out. I know I can be weird and crazy and dance and enjoy the music without the alcohol. So that's cool for me. By the way, love the pic of Slash. Later.

good post, I have always said that your true feelings come out when you are drunk because you don't think before you speak, you just speak from your mind and heart. sometimes the drunkeness can cloud your vision but you still feel like you would sober. :)

Well one thing bad about being drunk is:
1-you can die from all the bad ?stuff? in it
2-you'll drink and drive,which can end up being you'll kill ur self and then i'll have noone to talk to, and you'll hurt someone else too
It is a good post though, but still drinking is bad and it might be scary to others seeing you that way.

Tony - hey no problem man! thanks for stopping by!
Tay - true, if you drink too much in one go, you can poison yourself and destroy your liver. true, IF you drive drunk, your awareness drops down a lot and your chances for accidents increase. those are personal choices that everyone has to make when you're drunk. and believe me, its still YOU in that drunk body by the end of it. if you're responsible and you keep yourself hydrated and you dont go overboard with the alcohol, AND you make the right decisions and not get lost in the moment, you'll be safe...
but dont listen to me on this one. some things are meant for every one to figure on their own, taking their own time.
and just for the record, this post wasn't written after any recently drunken night. just thoughts... :D

Being a bit drunk unties my tongue, makes me feel love and kindness to everyone, especially to friends. I can say truth about my feelings (usually positive), I can do some crazy things (not dangerous)... I'm always shy, but drop of alcohol makes me more unchained, friendly and nice :) So I don't think drinking is bad, sure if it's not frequent and in large amounts!

well ur not really being someone else when ur drunk i dont think. i think u just open up more, lose some inhibitions. as long as ur not completely wasted ur still aware of what ur doing right? and u can control ur actions to some degree? so ur not acting like a totally different person ur just YOU with a little less self-control and awareness. so yeah. but whaddoo I know?

Hunt - hahahahahaha. whaddoo you know? u, my friend, are wise beyond your age... the best advice that was ever given to me was "never get into anything you can't get yourself out of." i live by those words every day. makes more sense than "don't do things that i say are bad otherwise you'll end up in HELL!" :D let me know how your experiences are like, WHEN you have them! ;)
Tay - :D what i said above. the advice. you will find that in life you end up making a lot of choices on your own. those are the ones you learn from the most, whether they were good or bad. life cannot be measured in terms of right or wrong, only in terms of who you were and who you are. in other words, the experiences that you have and what you learn from them. i wish you all the luck in your future.... trust your heart. it might lead you to fall sometimes, but if you don't, you'll always wonder...

my mum gets drunk all the time (dont tell her) one time she forgot my name!! haha. as long as their not embarrassing u, its really funny to watch people when there drunk! they are soo freaked up!
