 The Haunted Trail Part 2
That was fun. No really it was. I had a blast. The girls screamed and carried on. At one point they ran in circles like little girls screaming “daddy daddy”. R and I laughed at them until we cried. Out of our group- I was the one that held it together the best. I am shocked.

Naturally the very first ghoul we encountered R, M, and M’s Friend Ann ran off and abandoned me. Nice to know the pecking order in the group. Apparently, I’m the first to die.

One of the “actors” a small child was walking behind our group. I didn’t see him and accidentally smacked him in the nuts by swinging my arms when I walked. I swiftly turned and apologized to the hooded blood soaked child. “I am so sorry honey I didn’t see you there.” R busted out laughing.

A giant mountain of a man blocked the middle of the road and walked right into me. The girls screamed- even R moved out of the way. I looked up at the towering figure “Goodness, you’re a big one.” R was howling.

At the end we wandered through the haunted house. Given the pecking order it was decided I would go in first. I lead them through the best I could being blinded by the flashing strobe lights. I came face to face with a bloody clown. “Dead End!” He screamed in my face. Everyone behind me screamed. “Hi” I said quietly. “Dead End!” He screamed again, “turn around.”

I just stood there stunned. I didn’t see any other way out. I looked up at him- “Really?”

We all laughed and laughed. I can’t get over how much fun that was. R put his arm around me on the way back. We were laughing and joking between us- the girls in their own little world several paces ahead of us. He seems to get my sense of humor- which makes things easier. I would crack a joke and he would laugh pull me close and kiss me on the top of the head.

At the end the girls ran ahead to his car. He stopped at mine to tell me goodnight. M yelled back to me “goodnight Sue!”

“Goodnight!” I yelled back.

R and I laughed and talked some more. Soon the girls came to my car and yelled “We love you Sue!” Apparently thanking me for being bait and going first in the house. I yelled back the first thing that came to mind. “We love you too!” R laughed and smiled.

He looked genuinely whole heartedly happy. I really really like this guy.
