The neighbor’s across the street have moved out. This makes me sad. Out of all the people that have lived in that house I liked them the best. I didn’t know their name- and I never spoke to them. I liked them the best because the guy who lived there before them was on home confinement, sold meth, and shot the lady next door in the butt with a BB gun. Comparatively speaking, this new guy was a peach.
He only stayed there for about a year. That’s about how long anyone stays in that house. I like to imagine that they are all moving on to better things. A new job in a new city. Failure to pay the rent is a more likely motive. Awhile back, whenever that house would become empty again, I would be filled with hope. Maybe I would really like the person that moved there next. Now, I am filled with dread every time a new house on the block goes empty. God only knows what will slither in next- it seems to keep getting worse.
The house next to the empty house is a foster kid farm. That woman has 8 kids crammed into that little 3 bedroom house. It didn’t take the kids long to realize that the house next to them was empty. They have claimed that neighbors yard. Their toys are strewn about all over the vacant houses yard.
I saw the Farm Kids eyeballing my yard one day this week when I came home from work. They were actually standing in my driveway. I had to wait on them to move so I could park. Clearly I have been spending too much time away from home- squatters are trying to move in.

I know the feeling. Neighbors moved it and tried to take over my vacant lot. I eventually had to call the cops on them because their damn kids were riding their motorcycle in my yard, and were constantly in my yard.
